how after win a match, me and beelz lost 23 point???'
from 2212 to 2189....
i Always wired that win vs bad rating is useless, but now lose point is absurd. Fizzer can you give me good reason of this? :P

Because you won a game undeservingly by boot. The Warlight A.I. realized that and detracted the points instead of giving you more.
You shouldnt make the warlight A.I. even more angry by complaining now openely.
You might not get critical first moves in your next games.

Your rating depends on rating of your opponents. Probably your past opponents' rating dropped and that means your win is less valuable (so your rating also drop)

Rating basics:

1. Rating = estimate of ability based on whom you have played
2. Few games played = system has less information to make a good prediction
3. Beat low rated players = the upper estimate decreases
4. Beat high rated players = the upper estimate increases

You beat a low level team. So the system adjusted its estimate of your ability. The rating is an estimate. If you think it is a points system, you are mistaken. You don't always gain 'points' when you win. Your win simply gives the system more information to make a new estimate.

Anyway, be happy. I just looked at your 'loss' to Motocross. Lose that and you never would have gained first place. Your real rating should be about 1950-2000.

no nobody of past team have decrese rating. no other games are finishing. the thing is:
we beat them, we lost 23 point....I think that logic, all we can say that it makes no sense.

My rating has gone down after a win. It is nothing new.

no nobody of past team have decrese rating.

no kidding, you can't know that. Or you want to tell us, that you are checking ratings of all your oppenents every 2 hours?:P

no other games are finishing.

It's also not necessary. Perhaps opponents of your oppenents lost. Or your opponents win just expired. It's all connected and influence your rating as well.

Basically Gnuffone, say you beat team A, and team A has been beaten by B C D E F G, all of which you've played against and won. Well Team A's rating just went a bit lower because you beat them, making their win less valuable, but not only for you, for B C D E F G as well... so all of B C D E F G go down, and because they all went down a bit their win is less valuable for you.

My point here is that every win and loss has a major ripple effect on almost EVERYONE'S rating, not just your rating.

I get that you want to win the rating record, but it will take more time than you think. You may not even get it after beating Brisk/Dreuj, but if a team like Synesthesia and I beat you right now, because our amount of games is far less we would propel up past where we actually belong. Rating records as a whole aren't impressive, because almost all of them are dependent on the fewest games played and won. Holding rank 1 or a spot in the top 3 for a long time, is a lot more impressive, because it means that you didn't drop any games vs low rank players (2v2 ladder, 1v1 ladder you can get away with it), and the games you dropped vs high rank players were against other members of the top 3.

lolo, and thats the reason why no one can stay for long as leader of the 1v1 ladder, as players re-join the ladder they can easily still the #1. As every team plays vefwer games in the 2v2 ladder the ratign ssytem works ever in the long-run, but probably fizzer should think it over for the 1v1

Well it's hard to come up with a solution that fixes what is just an estimate. You could make an argument of giving someone a higher rating the more games they play, but then you may end up rewarding a player who plays a lot of games and gets a couple lucky wins. I see how the system is flawed, I just don't see a workable solution. I think we should all realize that these ratings are estimates. True skill is hard to measure. I would claim Timinator is still the best 1v1 player on the entire ladder, but right now has opponents above him who are estimated greater due to fewer games atm. This means that sometime within the next month, Timinator will end up taking the rank 1 spot again. That's why while I congratulate Roo for taking rank 1, I don't believe she actually will be able to retain it with such a stacked top 10.

I`m pretty sure Fizzer said that if you win a game you never go down points because of that game. You may go down points because other teams, that have beaten you or you have beaten, went down in points too. its not nessecary for other games to finish to change the rating.

nope opponent rating doesn't change. the maximum variation of opponent rating is -4. we lost 23 point IN THE EXACTLY MOMENT SYSTEM UPDATE score, after like 40 minute from when game vs noob was over.

a solution might be to penalize players with less than 30 games, this wouldnt give a benefit for the amount of games you played, but would demand you to play a considerable amount of games to get to #1, rather than just giving the #1 place to whichever new very good player joinign the ladder
