Literally every online community/game/forum uses this acronym. It definitely did not start on warlight.

I'm pretty sure like 6 or 7 years ago, I remember the use of "gg" on yahoo pool. It was a simpler time, it was a better time.

Really not wishing to start an argument here, just giving my opinion, but I find 'gg' pretty reprehensible. How much longer would it take to write 'good game' in its entirety?

I'm one of those English traditionalists/old people who cannot stand 'lol', 'omg', 'imo', 'pmsl' and such like and I would put 'gg' in the same bracket.

I've never encountered an English traditionalist before who used a Chinese name. Plus what do you think of "classic" abbreviations like *PE*, *ref*, *MP*, *PM*, *DI*, *DA*, or *ASAP*?

I did start my post with...

*Really not wishing to start an argument here, just giving my opinion,*

... so I'm a bit lost as to why people have replied with such vitriol.

And jeggings? No idea mate. No idea what they are and I'm sure it's something that I can live without googling.

Back in the early days of DOS , I remember using it.
This was a time where typing anything took for ever. There was also no way to edit it. There were hundreds of these short cuts.
I remember it being common in games like spades and back gammon. no game boards, the games them selves would have only have things like

g2 to f7
L5 tops g5

It wa a much more simple time and a mistake in anyway ruined everything. The short commands were essential.
