I made a cool new map and i am ready with the territories, connections, bonuses, distributions. Only one thing remains. I would like to place a coat of arms next to the map. I tried to import .jpg and .png files and it looks well in the inkscape, but in the warlight editor the coat of arms becames invisible.

Can I place a picture in my map? And if I can, wich format is necessery to do this?

thanks

Unfortunately it's not possible to include images in WarLight maps. If the image is small and simple, there are tools to convert images to vector format so they can be embedded in an SVG file, but I haven't tried any of them.

Thanks the quick answer Fizzer. Unfortunetly it is a highly detailed historical coat of arms. I try to make the map without that.

(it would be nice if in the future the map editor will be expand with a simple picture placing system. Its just a proposal)

My best answer is to find a version that was drawn by a 5 year old, and use that.

I didn't say it was a good answer.

the space invaders map used to have a simple picture in it.. I don't remember how elaborate it was, but considering you can include non-black colors it should be possible to get pictures into the warlight versions, albiet it might not be easy..

Thanks everybody, meantime I found the solution. Its name is Vector Magic. It can vectorize pictures (highly detailed and colored ones as well) and the Warlight editor can operate with the output format. Very nice program, I recommend it for everybody who want to place pictures in their map.
