I can give number of accounts in about 120 minutes from now. I don't know how much actively play though.

Edit: number of accounts excluding ones that have been 'deleted'.

There are roughly on average 15 000 accounts registered per month on this year. Last year it was slightly over 16 000 accounts per month. But it is hard to estimate active players - Fizzer has not published any data and it is hard to estimate it. You can check games made by the ID-but it does not tell how many of those were 1v1 up to 40 FFA nor how many ended before they even began.

One interesting estimate of players activity would be how many there are open Real-time and Multi-day games compared to previous months/years, but I don´t know anyone who would have kept track on it. If it would be recorded 3 times a day with interval of 8 hours it could give a good data point for comparison.

Are we making a distinction between unique players and unique accounts? The responses are inconsistent on which is being measured.

Well, I suspected its not possible to get how many of them are alts so... Of course, if there is any way thats what I ask for.

In total there are around 740 000 accounts. Fizzer have said in Twitch stream as well, that are hundred of thousands of players, but do you really think that? Even if every 10th made account sticks to the game would be quite optimistic measure of real player-base and from that you can subtract the alts.

The best estimate you can get is to look at ladder players (think what proportion of players there are), then look open games + multi-day games, and consider around equal proportion of hidden games or pre-seated ones + prerequisites you can´t see. Now think of an average player: how many games he/she has open, how long an average game lasts and how many players on average a game has? There is no right answer, just estimates. To me it is not even near to a 100 000 thousand.

There have been between 8,571,269 games played since I registered, which boils down to 6,100 games per day. That's perhaps a more useful measurement of activity than trying to guess how many people play IMO.

an average player plays mostly the 1v1 RT autogames. an none of us have even heard of him.
