Please don't answer this tread with links, because you often don't find the info on the wiki pages, because it's so basic. Also, please don't answer with sentences like "Set the opacity to 50%", because, I don't know where to click to open a menu to set the opacity. You may call me dumb, a noob, or silly, I don't care, I just want to make my own maps.

I have a number of questions about Inkscape itself, and they're so basic they don't appear on any help sites. First: how do I draw a region? From free hand I mean, so that both the border and the filling have a color, and how do I adjust these colors, and what tool do I select?
Second: I found a small map of Europe on the internet, managed to copy it to IS, but how do I set the opacity and how can I draw on top of it? And how do I crop it, like in other image editors, because on that image there's a bit of white sticking around, and I don't want that.
Third: how do I set the stuff I draw as objects, and how to set the center-points of them? And how to set the connections, and bonuses, and bonuses inside bonuses? (Like, you get 5 armies for a country, but also 3 for the capital alone)
Fourth: How do I get the Multiplayer->Design maps button that you know so well about, while I don't?

You should try watching some Inkscape tutorials on Youtube. Since you can see their cursor moving, there can be no ambiguity and you don't need a help site to spell anything out.

For the WarLight-specific parts, you really do need to read the wiki. By asking us instead of reading the wiki, all we'd do is re-state the instructions that are already on the wiki, and you'd miss out on all the parts we don't re-state which will only make life harder on you.

If there's something specific on the wiki that doesn't make sense, just ask us about it specifically and we can explain it in more detail.

You can set opacity by selecting Object -> Fill and Stroke, then you'll see Opacity pop-up on the right hand side.

I was not looking for that answer, watching hundreds of videos of 10 minutes each for a tiny bit of info doesn't solve my problem. I just need a few minor tips, and they're all specific on Warlight, so they are not highlighted in any video, so it'd be an impossible task to find them...
Yes, I've read the wiki pages, else I wouldn't ask you not to give me those pages...
I was just looking for a guy who knew InkScape well, and has made one or more maps himself, so he can answer questions himself, rather than just giving me links or advising me to watch unspecified videos.

I'll just write the things down I need, so you can answer them individually.

1A What tool do I use for drawing regions.
B How do I make it so that both the filling and the border have a color.
C How do I adjust those colors.

2 How do I crop images, like said in the first post.

3&4 I did find on the wiki, but 1&2 I can't find...

drawing regions I would say beizer curve tool
hold shift to color the edges, and just normal click to fill in the inside with color (or maybe it is the other way around)
you can adjust the colors by just clicking differant ones on the pallet, wich is on the bottom of the screen
and not sure about cropping

1A What tool do I use for drawing regions.
B How do I make it so that both the filling and the border have a color.
C How do I adjust those colors.

1A. Bezier tool is probably the easiest. Draw around the region you want and when you get back to the start of the line single click on it.

B. Select the line you made (with the selection tool) and click or Shift+click in the color pallet to edit the fill or stroke color.

C. Really... Do I need to answer that?

2. When you say crop an image, i'm guessing your talking about one you took of the web? If that is the case just open up windows photo gallery and crop it in their, or just resize it so that the parts you do not want overlap the canvas.

To resize it, select it with the selection tool and drag the edges in or outwards whilst holding Ctrl+Shift.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

To set center ponts, bonuses, paths between territories, etc., you'll need to upload your map to WarLight, then add those things through the map editor. [http://wiki.warlight.net/index.php/Uploading_your_SVG](http://wiki.warlight.net/index.php/Uploading_your_SVG) gives you all the info you should need to upload.

I think it be a lot easier if a quick and simple YouTube tutorial for Warlight map making would existed.
Because lets face it a lot of people need to see it to understand.
And even thought someone really wanting to make a map will eventually get it, maybe a video tutorial would make things simpler!!!

RIGHT?
