Just made my first 2 maps, both are still pending but I thought I'd show it to you already and post the link as soon as they're available.
Btw how do you show svg files on the forum? I can't simply upload it to tinypic or imageshack

The first made it online, it's a small Europe map to play with 2-3 players. Hope you like it!

About the Small Europe:
- Bonus name should be "Arab Regions", not "Arabian Regions".
- Montenegro is misspelled ("Montrenego")
- Lebanon is misspelled ("Libanon")
- Missing connection between Ukraine and Russia

I found some more mistakes:

- Slovakia is not in any region bonus. It should probably be in Central Europe.
- The Baltic States are often seen as a region very different from Central Europe.
- Luxembourg is mistakenly excluded from the EU.

Also, there is no Kosovo territory. I know that not all nations have recognised Kosovo, and if you happen to be a Serb, I certainly won't force you to include Kosovo, but it is a remarkable hiatus.
Whether you do or don't include Kosovo, I'd advise to split up the Balkan into two regions. Probably it would look like this:

1. Adriatic Coast (5 territories -> Slv., Cro., BoH., Mon., Alb..)
2. Eastern Balkans (5/6 territories -> Hun., Rom., Srb., Mac., Blg.. (Ksv.?))

Apart from all that, it's a really good map. Look at the bright side: *it might only get better!*

I just looked at Small Europe
-Missing connection between Ukraine and Poland
-Central Europe should really be called Eastern Europe

Well, Poland, Slovakia, and Czechia are Central Europe, but the Baltic States make up a seperate region, and, if anything belongs the Russian Territories, it's Belarus, rather than Moldova.

Central Europe should be the V4 group (Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary), Hungary is not a balkanian state.

Yeah, I was doubting that as well. I'm not sure if Romania is even a Balkan state.
I do know that they don't *want* to be considered a Balkan State.
Since you seem to be Magyar, Urfang, perhaps you know more about the division of states in Eastern Europe.

What an interesting geo-political discussion are we having. :)

Yeah, magyars and romanians dont like too if they are considered as balkanians, because this word has a pejorative tone here.

But this is not just a subjective identity question, the Balkan is a concrete geological region, and the Balkan Peninsula not contain nor Hungary either Romania.

In other maps with less detail countries are also covering larger areas than they should. For instance, in the small earth map European Russia is called Ukraine, and more of those inaccuracies are found on almost all maps. I did it without Kosovo because not all countries recognize it as a country. Quote from Wikipedia:

|> As of 11 October 2011, the Republic of Kosovo has received 87 diplomatic
|> recognitions as an independent state. Notably, 85 out of 193 (44%) United Nations
|> member states, 22 out of 27 (81%) European Union member states, 24 out of 28 (86%) |> NATO member states, and 27 out of 57 (47%) member states of the Organisation of
|> Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have recognised Kosovo. Serbia refuses to recognise it.
As soon as more than half of the countries of the world recognize it, I'll add it.

And I know of the missing connections between Ukraine-Poland, Ukraine-Russia and Italy-Austria, but I can't seem to edit them. When I try to edit the mode to development, it shows this error:

ChangeSelectedVersionStateBtn::system.Exception Error (0): Exception: Error: 3 not found
at shared\Utility.as:SetDropDownList()
at mapDesign\ChangeState_.as:Create()
at mapDesign\FamilyRoot_.as:ChangeSelectedVersionStateClicked()
at shared\ErrorHelper.as:Try()
(sp=3)

And about the misspelled country names, I'm Dutch myself, so I simply looked up the Wikipedia of those countries and then clicked to the English page to see what it's called. Because I didn't think Google translate would do it (after all it appears it did) and because it was time-consuming I decided to just keep Libanon Libanon, and hope it'd be correct in English too.

About Slovakia, I added it to Balkan states but somehow it doesn't appear in the game as it does in the editor. Luxembourg not being in the EU, that was simply dumb of me to forget to add it.

Arabian regions/Arab regions, I think you can say both.

Central Europe/Eastern Europe, I just needed names and because it was rather in the center of the map I just called it Central. About Baltic states, I added them to Central Europe because otherwise you'd have 2 small bonuses, and I wanted a big one. But it's a good idea to change the bonuses, I think I'm going to call Poland, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova to Central/Eastern Europe, and the rest to Balkan. Rather not Adriatic coast, since Serbia and Macedonia don't have any coast. As soon as the editor is fixed I'll change that.

I believe I've now answered all questions. Any more?

@ Urfang -> Hm, seeing the Wiki Article we could rename the bonus the SPSEE and include Moldova. I suppose the Hungo-Romanian attitude isn't unique. Estonia prefers to be associated with Finland rather than Latvia and Lithuania. Czechs and Poles hate to be called Eastern Europeans... People always hate their neighbours.

@ Moros -> Ah man, I should have recognised your "accent", being Dutch myself. *Dumb*, for example, is typical for Dutch English. Just like *find something nice*. Anyhow, nice Dutch Design. :)
Perhaps you should ask Fizzer what the problem is.

@Domenico
I think its not hate towards their neighbours, just the eastern european small nations have some minority complex and they afraid that the world do not see their unique national attributes, just considered them as eastern-european or balkanian nations. Of course everybody want to become better than his neighbours, but its just a friendly and healthy competition.

But i dont know that is it the subject of this topic, and i dont want to disturb nobody into the map making with this intermezzo.

Here's the new one!
http://WarLight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?DesignMapID=2435
I decided not to make Baltic state a bonus, that'd make Eastern Europe less powerful.
And I canceled the connection between Ireland and Iceland, and added one between Norway and Great Britain to make it look more like the big one.
Any more suggestions?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... Albania in Former Yuogslavia? I hope no Albanian is ever going to see that. Don't get me wrong: I made the same mistake once, too, and I know you've already put a lot of effort into it, but you should really rename that bonus, to Balkans perhaps.

And while you're at it, for Slovenia and the Eastern Europe countries, de-select and re-select the EU Bonus. This way, the borders take on the colour of their regional bonus rather than that of the meta-bonus.

Just so you understand, in Dutch:

*Voor Slovenië en de Oost-Europese landen moet je uit de lijst met bonussen linksonder de EU-bonus eerst wegvinken en dan weer terug aanvinken. Dan nemen ze de kleur aan van hun regiobonus (groen voor Oost-Europa, roze voor Slovenië) in plaats van het blauw voor de koepelbonus.*

Oh, sorry if you thought I was making you look like a fool. Personally, I thought my English instructions were a little vague, so, just to be certain that my message had come across, I repeated (and eleborated) in Dutch.
I don't think Dutch looks foolish at all. Again, sorry if you felt stupid.
