Have been discussing with Philiipe Augueste to form a new clan in WL with requirements.

Think of making a new name which is more pleasant or at least less unpleasant than [Dirty Old] :p

I agree Philippe's idea to limit the number of the clan as well as requirements to be qualified as clan members(though I don't fullfil these requirements at all)

Requirements as follows:

(a) once/currently ranked in the top 5 of the 1 v 1 ladder; (b) once/currently ranked in the top 2 of the 2 v 2 ladder; (c) 70%+ 3 v 3 winning %; (d) top 5 rank in one of hhh's 1 v 1 round-robin tournaments; (e) top 2 in one of my europe 3 v 3 tournaments; (f) confirmation by at least 3 current clan members that the player is good enough.

whereas at least any of a-e while (f) as compulsory




My own idea is about game manner only.

a clan restricted to the best 20 not already in a clan might be interesting. i'd join if at least 5 others join.

possible clan names/symbols (a symbol might work better):

1. [20] = 20 of the best
2. simply a star next to your name, no [XXX]
3. [X] = either xmen lol or a variable representing the current number of clan members (like idea #1 in a way)

yeah, there are some others i didn't think of: troll, fizzer, sirnaku...

If the clan name involves words 'Clean', 'Young' and/or 'Pear', I am in.

Dariush won a Europe tournament final against me recently. Mao seems got nothing as he is away from WL so long.

haha I thought it was that you had to have ALL of the requirements...and I think only like 3 people have all of those requirements. Was about to say that it would be a small clan.

I would be down, I personally like the prefix of [20]

The one issue I have is that I don't want to change my name. I pride myself on being an early WarLighter (coming up on 3 years this January) and that I haven't gone through a name change that entire time. It would be fun/an honor to be a part of this new found clan but if the prefix tag is required...that's a deal breaker for me :/

Anyways, I hope it turns out well and keeping the #'s low to make it exclusive will be key. I think that you should do Best Of series for prospective players in order for them to join as a ritual of some sort. There should also be challenges where an outside member can challenge a member of the clan (Best of Series!) to take their place. I think it could make for some great entertainment.

I'd suggest you to increase number of obligatory requirements (from (a) - (e)) to 2-3 for each player. That will select best players among those who would apply.

just for fun, lets see how i stack up:

(f) confirmation by at least 3 current clan members that the player is good enough; I hope I can get confirmation

+ 1 to best of series, but only when the player is new to community and already meets some requirements.

offer an open invitation to 25-30 people. not everyone will join. ask them one time. if they don't want to join, don't ask again. they can join on their own any time they want.

I like the best of series 1 v 1 challenge for unknown players. I'd add: Have a random team 3 v 3 with the new player and 5 clan members (or other good players).

Ruthless is too cool for the name change. You can be an honorary member who we rarely speak of!

if 2-3 requirements are needed, denzy, then only about 10 people could be asked, and half would say no (the closer the player is to being a top 5 overall player, the more likely he'll say no). 1 requirement, confirmation by 2-3 members and an optional best of challenge would be enough i think.

An idea for Ruthless and other players who don't want to change their name: Just add to your profile's tagline the clan's name. Eg: "Tagline: [20]"
