I have an issue with anxiety, and it is caused often by the slightest issues. Sometimes it is extremely overwhelming, to the point of panic attacks. On the topic of that, other people with this same issue, what are some ways that you have found that are helpful to this? This is making me fatigued no matter how much I sleep at this point and I'm feeling like crap 24/7. I want this to be over.
Idk. I think that adopting a winning attitude can help.
In psychology, there is vicious downwards spirals and virtuous *good* spirals. It is a feedback loop. If you try to get a positive attitude [tm] and set up a positive loop, it will maybe help fight anxiety.
Trying to control your anxiety by filtering your thoughts is also helpful. Not thinking about stressful stuff.
The first step to help yourself would be to identify the roots of the stress. Find signs that appear before you get *very* very stressed like sweating, tense muscles, dry mouth... Change the environment or change attitude with the environment. Remove stress factors or approach things differently to have less anxiety. Self evaluate.
If you search those words in google, you will find interesting results :
The things in life are often "win-win" situations rather than "win-lose".
If you see life like a "win-lose" game, you will be always thinking about the *bad* outcomes. Those thoughts will occupy you and you will be very very anxious.
@Tabby this was a spur-of-the-moment post when I was on the verge of a panic attack due to multiple factors in my life, a sort of reaching-out. However, I agree, that spur-of-the-moment choice to post this in a location which is generally a terrible place to get anything helpful or positive was a poor choice. That and it's populated by trolls like the one who made the post above mine. If you are fine with talking, might as well PM. Better than out here most likely.
You're unfortunately not alone Shredtail. I know we've talked this before but it's soothing to see you stand up for yourself and seek advice by yourself. Something I would never dare to do because I'm frail and broken. People on Warlight usually say that I'm mentally unstable and mock me for being 'drunk' , but it's true. Sometimes I do the weirdest things nobody would ever do while at the sime time I'm too afraid to perform the most normal things in the world. My biggest fear (not kidding) is receiving all the attention on me. The second fear is to get stared at. It's not difficult for me to pass through large groups of people, especially on a party when groups full of extroverts try to divert the attention on me, then I'm standing motionless and befuddled with a despaired mind rollercoaster operating through my head. Today I forgot to take up the phone again. I wished it was by accident, but it was intentionally. Because I'm weak passive bitch scared of any social contact that is only befriended with closed groups of friends and hopeless internet communities. Besides if you exclude the sleep you're in a much better position than me on all areas of life. Social phobia is not to be underestimated. If you wish for a longer with me and my experience with never having met a psychologist which I desperately need, arrange a skype conversation.
If you know what your diet is like and how you live and how to manage, then i did this :
Drank lots of water and occasional soft drink / whatever Try to do activities that keep your mind off of things, video games, reading, tv, playing outside with friends (rofl), cooking etc. If you eat stuff with lots of salt or very solid/chewy foods, like macaroni, a chewy sausage or some rice, those can help.
I think that the best way to fight anxiety is to try and change the way you see things.
1) Don't take everything too seriously, you have the right to be wrong.
2) Learn from your mistakes, but don't be affraid to make those they help you to improve, no one is perfect.
3) Find a passion. Anxiety often makes everything seem boring or not worth doing +you feel bad at everything. Make something you like and you feel good about; doing tons of sport/entering an association/etc... is often great for that.
4) Some activities such as yoga, meditation, matinal stretches,... can help you feel better and reduce stress. Having some rituals like a cup of coffee in the morning, drinking tea in the afternoon, listening to classic music while going to school/work are also great.
5) Find and change something that is harming you. I got a friend that got awful anxiety crisis due to a regular smoking of weed, he stoped and the crisis went away.
If it continues and you can't support it anymore, I'd recommend going to a psych, they can be very helpful in some cases. Hope you get better man.
