I'm sympathetic to your argument, for practical reasons we could say that we "know", even though we actually don't know. Just like we can't know that are not in fact in the matrix,as computer simulated beings programmed by a higher intelligence. But i get your point. Although what i had in mind was the deistic claim, not the specific Yahweh claim or other specific got claim, even more improbable. Let just say i'd be fine with a 6.999999 if it was proposed, but in this case you are either a 6 or a 7. And even if you are 99.9999999% sure that there is no god, then your are still a 6. Anyway, it is just word game at this point, once we agree on what "knowing" means.
Atheism is a religious position. However I don't believe it is the default answer. I wish to not answer the question instead.

There is no evidence to support either theism or atheism that I know, so there is indeed an "if".
Atheism is the postision that "there is no evidence to support theism". So if that proposition is true, then it is a proposition supporting atheism. You don't need "evidence" to support atheim because for most it is not a positive claim (unless you are a 7). Just like you don't need "evidence" that Thor does not exist in order to not believe in him.
