What are the possible picking combinations when each player is given 7 picks?

Would be nice if someone made a thread , Listing all the picking combinations on 1 - 7 picking games. Would be a nice resource compiled into one thread instead of looking through 7 threads for 7 different picking combinations.

why would anyone need such a list? it is easier to understand how the distributing territories algorithm works than to memorize all possible combinations one can get

I think he means: my picks are 1,2,3,...,14. List all possible sets of 7 picks I can get.

There are shitload (or even assload) possible sets of picks you can get. In my opinion listing them would be pointless because the list would be very long and it would be impossible to design picks so that every (or even most) combination would be satisfying.

Instead you should design pick e.g. like this: I really like territory X, I'll place it as my first pick. In case I would not get it, I would like to get territories Y and Z, I'll pick tehm as 2, 3. But if I somehow get X and miss Y and Z, I would rather have ..., but if I get X,Z and miss Y, I would want ..., so I need to place territory Z as my fourth pick, and so on.

* worst case odd picks:
pick: 02-03-06-07-10-11-14
posi: 01-02-03-04-05-06-07

* worst case even picks
pick: 01-04-05-08-09-12-13
posi: 01-02-03-04-05-06-07

All picks are either those or any earlier. If you have any pick shown above on that exact position, it means all picks with an earlier position must be the ones in the list or lower.
So, if you have your 8th choice as fourth pick (position), it means your third pick was 5th or earlier.
Nobody will bother to write out all combinations as there are approximately 1000 possibilities.

Someone could write some code.

Agree with timon. It's better if you refine the process behind picks rather to attempt to cover every scenario. This strategy is especially useful on team games when you're trying to cover a map as a team.
