yea thread limits per day is ridiculous as well as thread based on higher levels

1 forum thread every 2 minutes... or even 1 minute... that's all it takes to mass murder all the spammers right in their tracks

zeph essentially just now shot down 90% of every suggestion ever made to counter forum spamming

Honestly level requirements are stupid.

Level 4 is fine. Newbs should be allowed to post too.
However a simple thread-limit per day would solve it sooooo easily. No one but spammers needs more than max 5-10 threads per day.

That would certainly help, but some very, very determined spammers *cough* Squiggles *cough* would create ten thousand alts and the limit wouldn't make a difference. He created literally 1000+ alts to rate his coffee cup map, so you can't put it past him to do the same in this situation.

Only problem is, again, if someone creates a ton of alts, I'm sure they'd be willing to go through the trouble of making the threads vary slightly. Thus finding a loophole through all three of those requirements.

It takes time to switch from alt to alt, the spamming rate would be much slowed from the normal thread every 2 seconds using a spambot. But I think 5 thread limit is too much - frankly 2 threads is enough. No good poster has ever posted more than 2 good threads a day.
