Because sometimes you decide to quit the game for 3 years while stuck in a bunch of tournaments that already have players who quit.

tl;dr the old days had way too many massive tournaments that took years to finish. (I'm still stuck in two of these damn things)

The only times I have been booted was because I used to have an unstable internet connection and that would get me booted from RT games.
