it seems to me the only improvement is the ability to be a dick to people you don't like by downvoting them. that's not sarcasm, that is a real benefit. but that appears to be the only benefit. 80% of the threads on the front page are always hidden and it's not like those that are left are high quality threads or something, it's mostly just stuff that hasn't reached enough downvotes yet.
i think it was better before. it was certainly more active before. at this rate it's probably going to die.
