I'm a high school senior and I need some help. Prom's in a month and all my peers are talking about their plans, most of them have dates and I've never even held hands with a girl or kissed a girl. I could really use some advice from the most seasoned masculine slayers on WarLight.

How do I ask a girl out for prom?

I hardly talk to anybody at school let alone girls, except for one-word commands and acknowledgements of my existence. I can't remember the last time I've held a conversation with a girl, or anyone outside of my close circle of two friends really. I'm shy, I sit in the corner alone and stare at people. Often I walk around the halls listening to STEFAN MOLYNEAUX FROM FREEDOMAIN RADIO, obscure metal, and 8-bit music and observe people in conversation. I'm not exactly girlfriend material.

How do I do it

It would be weird to ask anyone considering I've never even talked to them before. Every girl has better male connections than me. Women will simply never understand being the quiet forgotten male. Even the shyest girls will get ask to prom and it's their prerogative to accept or decline. If I asked a girl to prom is would probably end in disaster.

Seriously guys. I can't remember the last time I touched girl flesh and it was before junior or senior year. I hugged a girl ONCE in 7th grade and I had to ask for it.

If I don't get a date to the prom, I'm going to hang myself on prom night in protest.

In all honesty, here's some advice.

Find out what your date likes. Don't stalk, but try to form mutual friendships. Ask them in a natural way about their life "how are you?" "What did you do this weekend?" "Did you see that movie?". This will show you care. Find something both of you like. Always go to older sisters if you have one for help with girls. Do not bring up politics or other controversial stuff. Then you look pretentious.

Once you feel comfortable, find a good time to ask her. Do it at a time where there's not too many people, but don't confront her in the hallway when everybody else is out of school. If you need a friend to be a wingman, that's fine. Just don't have them standing next to you when you do it.
And then, just ask her. It takes courage, but remember that trying and failing is experience. Like Warlight, every loss is a lesson to learn from. And it gets easier every time.

If she says yes, congratulations! some random plebs on an online Risk forum helped you get a girl. If she says no, don't go on a Molyneux "It's only because she's a slut" rant. Maybe its because someone else asked her. Maybe she just wants to be friends. Maybe she thinks you're too weird. But there are worse things that could happen (getting cucked at prom). Also, if she says yes, don't brag about it to everyone like you won the lottery. Sure its nice to talk about, but it kind of makes you appear like going with her is a trophy or reward.

And above all, don't expect prom to be a long-lasting thing. Sure, it can happen, but not many prom relationships go after. If you want that, that's another story.

I didnt go to prom. Rip. But at the time i just recently came here from Russia and didnt understand what prom was. And even if i would have, my thick accent wasnt gonna get me a date.
