I think this map is really cool and want to make a 1v1 tournament with it. I haven't seen any templates for this map except for the autogame FFA so I'm looking for suggestions for settings (both standard and non-standard ones are welcome).

Ideas anyone? :) Feel free to invite me to a game on it

Took me less than 5 minutes to find those under Warlight-Forum-Search. What I am trying to say, is that there is plenty of source material to find interesting ideas. To your homework before asking others. And why you ask what someone else wants, that you are going to play? Do what you like and try to find people who feel same. Its a nice map, if you get the right settings and decent time-frame (multi-day only) I may be interested.

I enjoy this map, and I believe a sound WR template could be made with it easily. In fact, I think it could be better with WR than SR.

i liked the one from that tournament i posted. it was SR not WR. i think it worked well. i have a dislike for WR though.

And I prefer WR, so both of our positions are likely influenced by the biases we bring to it.

I will say that this map can also work as an SR template. However, with so many other SR templates in existence, will this one be able to find a niche in the gaming community? It will be more difficult for it to distinguish itself as a template worthy of being played if it is SR and not WR.

atleast judging from the invites i get they are very 50-50

I was basing my opinions off the MDL, where, unless I am mistaken, there are far more SR templates.

EDIT: Well, now I'm curious as to the actual ratio. I guess I'm off to count!

no matter what you are for sure getting other invites then me.

For the record, there are 9 WR templates on the MDL (out of 51 total). They are as follows:

Belarus
British Raj
Cat Fight
Final Fantasy 7
Gelvien Islands
Phobia
Randomized Strat ME
Strat ME
Tor-ture


It is also worth noting that several of these have been relatively recent additions, so the ratio of WR to SR used to be even worse than its current state.


Late Edit: The MDL advertises 46 on its ladder join page, but in reality there are 51 templates currently in play. Sorry for the confusion for those who saw the previous stat.
