How silly of me to think that we could make it through April Fools' without anyone saying anything.

You were wrong. Although I admit this 1st of April has been one of the most unsuccesful April Fools day ever. Not even a single April Fools joke in Belgium that reached the media has been spotted so far. The only april fools jokes known by our media is that of the ones that occured in the Netherlands. It's as almost nothing happens in my country. I do find it a dissapointment people didn't participate in such a joyful event. Hearing you say it's the same in the US I'm starting to lose faith in mankind

Besides sorry I couldnt do better than this one :( please let everyone celebrate 1/04/17 in their own way. And yes I use the correct system for spelling that right. americans still using the imperialist system while literally the rest of the world doesn't. Their written form isn't logical anyways. Days before months make more sense than months before days. #getitright guys

Well, not to diss on other countries' use of the Metric system (even I, as an American, wish the whole world used the Metric system. It'd be easier), but putting the month before the day seems logical to me. April first is quicker and easier to say than the First of April.
Also, Liberia and Myanmar use the Imperial system too.

it's annoying whenever folk think the "right" way is how Europeans do it. In China, they do year/month/day, and that frankly seems like the best way, since years are absolute, while months are relative - it gives absolute info first, then relative info later.

In the rest of the world you can do both.

1/4/2017
DD/MM/YY
or
2017/4/1
YY/MM/DD

While in the US you can do (As far as I got):

2017/4/1
YY/MM/DD
or
4/1/2017
MM/DD/YY

This is where it gets confusing. While the first 3 forms go from the biggest to the smallest or the other way, the last US form starts with the middle, switches to the smallest and then jumps to the biggest.
This makes no sense overall.
