for me, booting depends on the person, the game's situation, and the time.
person:
- friend: never boot
- good/respected player or vet: never boot
- bad/average player, new player: depends on the game's situation and time
game situation:
- the game is obviously over, the player is wasting time: maybe boot him/her
time: anything that exceeds my typical settings
- real-time game: 10 minutes and boot (unless there is a reason not to)
- multi-day: over 3 days and i get the itch

In the start, I felt guilty as fast I had booted someone, (which was really fast) and stopped almost immediately. Now I wait and see if they are going to play, send some messages on so on. Then I maybe boot if its not a really fun game. I think booting for adventage is really mean, and some turns take more time than others (realtime). My biggest mistake was on one of my first created games, I didnt got the hang of boot and thought that it was mean to boot. Therefore I set the bootrate on 100 days. Im still waiting on half the players... ;/

in real time i ask if there and if they need more time i wait i ask and count 15 seconds no response i boot.if there a reason they are gone and are coming back i wait.
In multi days i boot when i can u are given 2 days to make a move in most multi so if u check ur warlight every 2 days then they should be no need and if they have left warlight for a while they should go on vacation
