I updated the Events google docs:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ao0SlM6Kv6CE1-Ha5mBIrI6nj4Uft2lMaE25qbXxWHs/pub?gid=648212339&output=html

I collected the present finals (F, SF, QF) positions from the 15 ongoing events, so here are the players with 2 or more finals (the + means still in the event):
  • 5
    Timinator (3SF+, 2QF+)
  • 3
    ACL Tears (1F+, 1SF, 1QF)
    Buns157 (1F+, 2QF+)
    malakkan (2SF+, 1QF+)
    Kurdistan49 (2SF+, 1QF)
    Edge (2SF+, 1QF)
    rakleader (1SF+, 2QF+)
  • 2
    Quicksilver (1F+, 1QF+)
    MoD (1F+, 1QF)
    Phaeril (1F+, 1QF)
    Rento (1SF+, 1QF)
    Juan (1SF+, 1QF)
    Wini (1SF, 1QF)
    PJ017 (1QF+, 1QF)
    linberson (1QF+, 1QF)
    fireice82 (2QF)
(no ongoing event analysis now because the expiring events it would be longer time)

Ok, so now everything up-to-date!

But this was the last time I did it alone (I worked on it 10+ hours in the last few days :O )
So from now (actually from tomorrow, because no more time now), I start to organize the help (answering mails, etc.), and we will see.

Can I add an event to the series?
Also, I think a masters win is not equal to a tenth of a grand slam win, considering there are only twice as many per year.

What do you "add an event" mean?
You would like to propose a new template? It is possible, of course, and the template panel will decide.

And a Masters win is 1000 points, a Grand Slam win is 2000, so I don't understand that "tenth of" ;)

I think that tomjh wrote in response to the new system you suggested two weeks ago, with the four digits. Then you could win all Masters and have 0800 while winning 1 Grand Slam and have 1000.

As it stands, we have no set map pool, we play a tournament all on one template, what if we had a tournament where out of a selection of (for simplicity's sake) 5, 1 template is picked and that map is played separately, or better still, get Fizzer to add a feature allowing different maps to be played in different tournament rounds or an eSports-esque ban phase.

Reza, the problem with Fizzer is we have no idea what's going to happen in the near future, although more quickmatch stuff seems evident.

I don't know how clear Fizzer's priorities/road map, but seems (based on the past) that the competitive scene of Warlight is not important for him at all :( Just compare how many changes were for the competitive parts of Warlight and how many for others (even compliants, requests demanded by many weren't solved for competitive scene). Maybe it is only business reason, I mean the competitive scene so few compared to the rest, I dunno.

Whatever the reason, the point is that the competitive community has to serve themself.

As it stands, we have no set map pool, we play a tournament all on one template, what if we had a tournament where out of a selection of (for simplicity's sake) 5, 1 template is picked and that map is played separately
Although we have a clear event schedules with templates (https://www.warlight.net/Forum/262655-awp-world-tour-magazine?Offset=4), but it is flexible, can be change anytime. Everybody can propose new templates, and a 250 Series template can easy be replaced with it (see Pangea Ultima or Concordia last time). For 500 Series template changes or even the major event template changes need more, I mean the popularity is a keypoint for them.

So template system of the Tour is a flexible system, but for this, very need the community's help. I mean propose new templates, and help decide (discuss) about a proposed new template. So this is up to you ;)

I think that tomjh wrote in response to the new system you suggested two weeks ago, with the four digits. Then you could win all Masters and have 0800 while winning 1 Grand Slam and have 1000.
Ah, thanks, now I see then.

Well, that new point system was only a proposal (the main goal was the simplicity), but failed, I understand, so never be that, don't worry (btw, in that system 1 Grans Slam win would meant more than even 33 Masters win! (I mean 1,0,0,0 > 0,33,0,0))

But changes need, because present cost me 15-20 hours per month to run the Tour.

First step I redesigned the google sheet, the new format likely will be this:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRaOndH53u52-2FbgP6pJbOW6NNnip_PGKZeWLrZZ6cOu4c3g0Taft7N7wVigLZ0dpWK2HYnQ1pnhIN/pubhtml
The Ranking sheet automated, and important that no more merged cells, so can be easy ordering (it is already save a few hours). But still many manual update works in Result sheet (but fewer than earlier here too). I have a few help offer for manual works, and waiting for MotD because if he can find any freetime he can help to automate this finished event update step too.

So this is the present situation, we will see ;)

Edit: btw, any google sheet expert person can help me too with more automation (the Win-Loss and Tourney columns for example) using google stuffs

Perhaps reduce the number of points given out in each tournament, so in 250s only give points to the top 8, in 500s the top 16, in 1000s the top 32 e.t.c.

Congratulations to AI for his first Tour event win! A Grand Slam win not bad as a first win ;)
Because he lost his first game in 2016, now this means a nice 2000 additional points for him, and he is in the TOP10 (8) with that, congrats!
Congrats to rakleader as well for the second place! He defend only 45 points (1 win) from 2016, so this additional 1155 points mean, that he got the first place on the Rankings, CONGRATULATIONS! Very well deserved!
And congrats to the two bandits, Edge and Krzysztof for the semifinals and the nice point boosts, good jobs.

Here are the TOP16:

And here are two tables, players with the most earned and most lost points
(=points from 2017 reduced by the expired 2016 points)

As you can see, we can't find many consistencies beetwen 2016 and 2017 :|
Happy to see many (7) new players in the first list, but sad to see that more players missed (not join :( ) the new event in 2017, actually the 50% of the previous TOP8 :(
But we can do nothing, it's Warlight :P

Because the very fast ordering process of the new design (2 minutes instead of previous 2 hours!), I can give you new Rankings after every finished event (although, the monthly ones will be the officials). So here are the present TOP25 (the two finished 250 Series events updated into this Rankings as well):

(in the new design there are two new sheets, "Results" and "2016 expired results", you can find over there all the results (not only the present counted ones) with links (for smaller events))

Monthly Tour Update - 09/2017
  • The TOP10 on the Tour after September:

Congratulations to rakleader for getting the fist place! He broke Pana's long rule!
His performance is very constant, well deserved first place!
He earned a quite good 9-3 records and got a very nice 1155 additional points in last month.

Pana lost his throne after a long rule, but the real bad news that he try to retire from WL again :(
I hope it will be failed again ;) (I would really see his performance in the CL too)
He earned a 2-1 records and got 90 additional points.

Wini hold his points but lost one position because of rakleader's breaking to the top.
He earned a decent 6-3 records but got 0 additional points.

Buns still hold his 4th position. He did a nice TOP8 in the finished Grand Slam, but he defend a TOP16 from 2016, and one of his 250 Series event win was expired too, so he got only 20 additional points with a good 4-1 records.

MoD did a TOP8 in the GS too (defend only a R32) and came forward with a position.
Does he start to reach good GS/major results? We will see ;)
He earned a nice 9-2 records and got 270 additional points.

Arkanton did a cool 9-3 records but got only 90 additional points, despite this he raised one position (because of MIFRAN's falling, just like many other players)

Timinator raised again one position (he is spanning upwards slowly but surely).
And finally he won his first Tour event (congrats here too!), but this good news overridden by his first round lost on the GS (unlucky pairing with MoD in R128).
He earned a cool 6-1 records and got 160 additional points.

Welcome AI in the TOP10! Congrats here too for his first Tour event win, which was a Grand Slam immediatelly! So now two MH players in the TOP10, I am really wonder them in the A division of the CL.
He earned a very nice 7-1 records and got an amazing 2000 additional points.

Master Bjarke overtook Hades, and raised one position.
He earned a 4-3 records and got 90 additional points.

Hades missed all the 3 finished events :( but lost 90 points because of his expired R32 GS result, and sank one position.

  • Some additional good performance from outside of the TOP10.

Kurdistan49 won his first Tour event and did a TOP8 in the GS too. His WL career just like a comet, I am sure I will write his name a few here in the future :D
He earned an amazing 10-1 records and got a nice 610 additional points, and raised from the 118th to the 43th position.

Edge earned a very nice 8-2 records, and got cool 720 additional points, and raised from the 24th to near the TOP10 (13th position). Very well done!

Krysztof earned a nice 5-1 records and got a cool 560 additional points, and raised from the 25th to the 15th position.

Rento earned a decent 5-2 records and got a nice 370 additional points, and raised from the 42th to the 27th position.

Phaeril earned a nice 6-2 records and got 195 additional points, and raised from the 134th to the 88th position.

  • The biggest victims of last month expirations

MIFRAN -2160 points! Two of his Tour wins expired and he missed all of the three finished events :((((
Love -1145 points. 4-3 records, but he is retired from WL :(
ps -720 points, and missed all three finished events as well :(
    Milly -540 points with a 4-3 records.

You are welcome!
Good to hear that you have more time again for Warlight (and for the Tour :D ), GL&HF on your way!

Btw, what do you "next season" mean?
Because on every Monday start a "new season" on the Tour ;)

I mean, AWP World Tour Rankings period is the immediate past 52 weeks.
It means that the ranking system calculates how many points a player earns over a 12-month period.
This 12-month period is not a calendar year but a rolling 12-month period.

Because of this rolling 12-month period, on every Monday start a "new season".

Or do you mean season referring to the template seasons? (Grass season = WR templates, Hard season = SR templates, Clay season = weird (not standard) templates)
In this case the next season (Clay) will start only 12/March/2018 :O

Congratulations to ACL Tears for his second Tour event win! So now he became the member of the elite company who can win more than one Tour event (only 7 players was able to do this during more than one year!) It means +6 position raising as well for him, and breaking the 2000 point limit.
Congrats to Kurdistan as well, he almost get his second Tour win (although this 2nd position means more points for him, than that 250 Series win)
Congrats to Master Bjarke and Octane as well

Here are the TOP16:

Congratulations to Timinator for his second Tour event win! If a business starts! ;) He became member of that elite company too (so now 9 players won more than one Tour event). And start to attack Arkanton's position on the Rankings (only 90 points differencies).
Congrats to rakleader for his newer final as well, he can increase his point advantage againts Pana.
Congrats to my two clan mates for the podium too.

Here are the TOP16:

52. AWP World Tour - 250 Series - Cat Fight
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer/Tournament?ID=23443
Congratulations to Quicksilver for his 4th (!) Tour event win! 4 event win (+1 final) out of 6, not bad ;)
His record already 32-2 (!), and if we count his ongoing events, then 39-2 (more than 95%!).
And he is a nice 31-0 win streak (!), who will stop him? :D
But back to the reality (:P), the perfect record from the smaller events looks good, but isn't worth too much from Rankings point of view. The smaller events are mainly for fun, the real Ranking battles are on the major events, so Quick, come out of the playground, and go the real battlefield :P ;)
Congrats to Timinator for his newer finals (this was his 6th), would have been nice win 3 finals in a row, after he loose his first 3 in a row :D
Congrats to ALC Tears and Nemo (this was his first podium!) as well.

Here are the TOP16:

I updated the Rankings as well (but for several reasons I will update the Rankings once a month again from now), here are the present TOP25:

Well, I have a promised but has not yet done birthday gift:
https://www.warlight.net/Forum/159429-awp-world-tour-magazine?Offset=185

Better late than never :D
With the new google sheet design, finally I was easy able to create this.
So happy (late) birthday AWP World Tour! :D
Here are the first year (partial although) google docs plus some statistics and records:
  • The TOP25 on the Tour after only the 2016 events:

Although Pana is the first based on the numbers, but I must say that the first (half) year, 2016 was about the Big Three (MIFRAN, MoD and Buns), they totally dominated the Tour in the beginning.

The Big Three transformated to The Big Four (enlarged by Pana) only in the beginning of 2017, and we started to speak about the TOP7 even later, but if we check this table we can see that those things have been established already in 2016 and "belongs to" 2017 only because the used "finished event counting system" (many late 2016 events were finished in 2017).

Anyway, the numbers do not lie, so congratulations to Panagiotis for the first position of 2016!

Congrats to the Big Three (MIFRAN, MoD and Buns) as well, those weekly updates period was very exciting (and busy :D ) for me, thx!

Congrats to the remaining three members of TOP7 (Wini, rakleader and Arkanton) as well, nice job in 2016, and since then actually they have already taken over the power ;)
