as some people here, they know the discussion at the beginning of this year - after that i stopped making maps and i was away over eight months.
For a similar reason i published "Hexagon Wars" and got mostly approval for it.
I'm planing several maps (all as the perfect style i made before).
But i'm sick of doing this (for you and for the maker of this game) for free.
So if you want some special map you imagined or if you want a very special idea you would like to be implemented, turn on me and support my membership.
If you donate me, i will label my maps with your names.
First one get's it obviously free :-)

Thanks to thekohser now all map builders are going to ask money for something they used to and should still be doing for fun. I hope I'll never fall for that.

Gosh, this post really makes me cry... I already saw mapbuilders not paying attention to details that are the base of a good map, such as connection management, border outline (hint skunk, adenoid, if I had more time I'd mention more), or originality (sir nick). After a while, all good builders ask money, and because few people want to pay WarLight will be flooded with maps that are all made within an hour and all approved by fizzer himself, who doesn't want me making more versions of my own maps because it costs him money.

I'm sorry for the pessimistic/flaming comments, but I'm tired and worried about my map deadline, please don't take it more serious than it should be taken.

"who doesn't want me making more versions of my own maps because it costs him money."

Costs him money?

I definitely agree on the poor quality and playability of may of the maps submitted. Admittedly, I have done maps that have had limited playability (Massachusetts) but there is no questioning the aesthetic quality of it.

Oh, and in the same vein, I love skunk's horrid-quality, gap-filled maps. Talk about putting in minimal effort.

The thing that amuses me most though is his ratings for all his past maps he includes every time. As if there was some actual rating system in place for maps or he actually got that much feedback. In reality, he seems to pull numbers out of the air as he sees fit.

|> Every map version that gets made public must remain around on WarLight's servers forever, since games that were created on that map also stay around forever.

Metaltubbie, become a game designer.. personally there are plenty of map makers, and a fair variety of map making abilities for anyone to make the maps they want...
you want 30$ per map you make.. when only the initial 30$ will have an actual use to you personally..

any map that is made for money ,*to my knowledge*, instead of made for the benefit of the game/players/atmosphere, I will refuse to play...

and I refuse to argue these points with you yet again metaltubbie.. Greed should have no part here.

1.) You make maps b/c you enjoy the game. 2.) You wouldn't be able to make maps if Fizzer hadn't created this game and let you play it for free. If you want more abilities, pay the measly $30 membership fee. Pathetic asking for people to pay for your membership on here.

Wait, what? Too many versions?
Come on, it's way better an idea to throw away those school maps and poorly drawn maps, like the one of Deventer, than to stop people from improving on their maps.

As for Metaltubbie, if you need money, get a job!

so, this thread has metaltubbie asking for money to make maps on request. at least two other threads have people offering money to people who will make maps of atlantic city and some other one. maybe you should, yknow, reply to those ones.

the variety of maps is an important part of the game, its not unreasonable to ask for money if youre making a lot of high-quality ones. especially if youre going to buy a membership with that money.
