Hello everyone!

I'm currently designing a map of the Tyr Region of Athas, using this:
http://pro.bols.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/4eAthasMap.jpg

Now, the map contains a lot of mountainous regions which I want to be uncrossable and instead have some nice art, so it would look something like this map: https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=55745

I was just wondering how one goes about putting that art on their map (and how to make it look good), although I'm assuming its just another path.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide on how to make a great map, I'm really amazed by what the whole community can do!

Wow, these mountains are really nice! Thanks for finding these maps for me, I'll try to draw the mountains now!

here are some very easy proposals for mountain shapes:

Wow, thanks Ranek!

Could you please explain how you made the first mountains? I'm trying to use the Render 3D Polyhedron tool to make a pyramid, but it isn't working.

You also need to keep in mind your file size. Using the polyhedron tool might make your file size jump with a lot of mountains. I personally would use the bezier tool to hand drawn your mountains (triangles) and then copy paste them all over

That's true Ginger, but I can't even get the tool to work!

I'll just use triangles as you suggested then, as there doesn't seem like there are any easier ways of doing it.

I would recommend the bezier tool too. maybe watch some inkscape tutorials first. draw some triangles and drag them at their edges to adjust their shapes after you attached the edge-points with eachother. you can also group those shapes when you are satisfied with the result and copy paste them all over the map as one *mountain image*.

I finally put mountains on the Ringing Mountains (the largest mountain range on the map).

Before I put them anywhere else, please tell me what you guys think about them.

After this, I'll finish up with the mountains and probably move onto making roads.

Again, here is the map preview: https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=66729
