I think it needs to be done. Everyone is infected now, for a loooooooooooooooong time. It'd be more interesting to see how one spread by doing one each year. It can be given to the players at the top of each official ladder. That would give it to 7 players, which I think would have a very low risk of the viral achievement not spreading. I don't think this would be so hard, but what also would be cool would be to trace your viral achievement. I have no idea where I got my virus from, or even from whom. It'd be cool to track it, how it goes through clans, and stuff like that. This would be harder to program, I imagine, but still.

There is the possibility of an Unity mod for this, but that's no fun. noobs wouldn't get the mods, and it's less-determined on who starts with the achievement, so I recommend it to Fizzer to program in. Viral achievement 2017, come on!

Furthermore, a date-tracking system would be nice as well, when you got the viral achievement. To see which communities are so insulated.

I remember finding out about this achievement like 18 hours after 2.0 was released or so. I was the 3rd getting this achievement in the end (1st was the original carrier) and we were just doing a RT tournament where that person got defeated in 2nd round, i won against that person in 3rd round and 4th round i lost in the final giving it to a 4th player at that point. From there it was like a few days before everyone in the strategic community had the achievement so if you make it something coming back i would say do it every month, then it feels more of an achievement to get and just starting with 1 active player should be enough for that.

Nice idea! I would reduce it to 2-3 months(maybe every seasonal ladder?). A year is a long time.

Did not knew what it was or where it came from up to this thread. If there are really players interested in achievements that much: gathering-finding them, then maybe tweaking it like Жұқтыру and Wakanarai suggested would be interesting. Although resetting it in same fashion or even monthly basis would lead to similar results: players not caring about it.

I assume one ambition Developers should have mind making updates in game is to either get new people or encourage old players play more. So I would suggest to reset the achievement monthly/quarterly basis and make it countable. So each viral-period all players have chance to obtain 1 Viral Achievement and in brackets there is count how many times a player has achieved it. Give it to 25 Top players and see how far it spreads.
Same could be replicated to coin games for each season.

Just to pour some irony into the topic. Can we have a Black Sheep Trophy - like if you are last on Seasonal ladder or X-days on other ladders? (Not ranked does not count :))

It's been a long time since ðe achievement have been added. Everyone's infected now. Would be more interesting to start it over for sure.
