In chat corn in my tights mentioned he was leaving the 1 v 1 ladder, so I am assuming that even though he knew he was winning the game he had to surrender it.

leaving the ladder doesn't affect your current ladder games.. however the lack of having rankings anymore could make peoples mentalities similar to when people surrender in *surrender accept* games.. they figure they have no gain from it, so just leave, regardless of other logical reasonings.
