My fingers are close to breaking but it's way too fun, and its way more fun while listening to ''Running in the 90's''

the fuck, lol. if you get over 100, then you have to do a captcha that proves your speed. almost ran out of time on the captcha actually.

Very cool site, thanks for sharing. Speed freaks on that site apparently break 300 WPM on fast runs. What does that even look like?! Do these people have more than 10 fingers and/or somehow use their toes?!

I am more amazed by the fact that how their eyes can keep up with their fingers (while it should be the other way around!).

Human WPM (words per minute) Fun Facts:

"The definition of each word is often standardized to be five characters or keystrokes long in English, including spaces and punctuation."

Typing (33wpm)
"in 1998, the average rate for transcription was 33 wpm, and 19 wpm for composition"

So 300 wpm (mentioned above) at first sounds like somebody might be cheating. Unless you're a professional using a stenotype.
"Guinness World Records gives 360 wpm with 97.23% accuracy as the highest achieved speed using a stenotype."

Handwriting (13wpm)
"approximately 13 wpm"

Speech and Listening (155wpm)
"Audiobooks are recommended to be 150–160 wpm, which is the range that people comfortably hear and vocalize words."
"...Steve Woodmore, who achieved a rate of 637 wpm."

Reading for comprehension (215wpm)
"normal reading for comprehension (around 200–230 wpm)"

The World Championship Speed Reading Competition stresses reading comprehension as critical. The top contestants typically read around 1,000 to 2,000 wpm with approximately 50% comprehension or above. The six time world champion Anne Jones is recorded for 4200 wpm with previous exposure to the material and 67% comprehension.

A bit slow for me, usually hit 120-125 but the last couple of words + how slow everyone else was threw me off.

Eh, 72 wpm really isn't slow. Only 5% or so of people type over 70 wpm. 110 wpm isn't top 1%, it's more like top .025% 1 in 4000 or so people type that fast.

60-70 wpm isn't "not good". It's well above average. Average (median) typists type around 38 wpm, the mean typing speed is slightly faster at 40 wpm. 17 wpm is a standard deviation.

I tried it once, I scored 76 wpm, my slowest segment was 63 wpm, fastest was 96 wpm.

I suspect the only way I'd ever break 100 wpm would be if using an azerty or dvorak keyboard.
