It wasnt even supposed to be 3 vs 3 vs 1, but somehow the game added an extra seat

it divided it randomly into teams of 3.. I presume that there were 7 open seats, likely on accident, or the host put 6 open seats + himself, forgetting that he wouldn't take an open seat when placed..

doesn't change the fact, I still would of played it out if I was the 1, if all other players were willing ;)
