I am working on this map (thanks for the idea of using the basin Qi):

It is obviously still a work in progress, but I have a question for you map makers. What determines which bonus is on top (if overlapping)? I have a bonus for major cities on there (like Chicago), but those territories also belong to a larger bonus for the Watershed (Lake) they belong to. How do I show the territory color as the city bonus and not the 'super' bonus?

EDIT - Figured it out. It is based on when the bonus is added to the map. I deleted a super bonus and added it back in and it was under the older bonus.

Also, I will be fixing overlapping boundaries (can't see both), but not until I divide the territories between bonuses first.

Interesting. Superior is a big mama.

You can even make a bonus be on top simply by clicking on edit in the bonus window, and accepting. This gives that specific bonus precedence over the others.

EDIT: Apparently this doesn't work.

@BBBG
That doesn't work, when you reload the map everything is back to normal. You should select all territories in the bonus you want not to be visible, and double-click the checkbox that says they belong to that bonus. That is a permanent solution.

And this map looks very good so far! I am glad you haven't used the terrible square counties America seems to be fond of as divisions.

Yeah, Michigan is loaded with square counties. I went with subwatersheds since it is a basin map. I have added all territories, and grouped them by watershed (bonuses). Now I just need to tweak some of the bonus amounts based on how easy they are to obtain to make it more balanced. I welcome any suggestions there on bonus amount changes.

Once I have that set, I will add the super bonuses in (I would guess most would play without them, but it is nice to have them available).

This might be better suited to 2v2 than 1v1 with 167 territories. I could combine some, but not sure if I want to do that or not.

Meh, it's practical, just very uncreative (and not very good for Warlight/real wars, as you have no clue where natural boundaries are.)

What do you mean by not having natural boundaries? Would you like to see state lines in the territory boundaries? I'm not sure why that would be important, but I can do that if it makes the map read better I suppose.

I am going to combine a bunch of territories to reduce the number and balance it some. I had to start by just tracing every subwatershed first because I had no idea how many there would be.

I was referring to the square boundaries there. Most of your boundaries are actually pretty good.

Admittedly, though, some of these territories/borders look forced (When they become thin lines)

I have just done some major rework on it. I combined a bunch of territories to get it down to 110, and reworked some bonuses in the process. What do you think?

Islands of Keweenaw (in Lake Superior) is a part of USA and should be part of bonus Keweenaw, not bonus Thunder Bay.

You are talking about isle royal? Yes it is US land, but this is not a political map. It is a drainage map and the territories are all based on flow of water only

Yeah, that was on my list Moros, thanks. I am waiting until I play some test games on it in case I change a territory to a different bonus. The only one I separated was around Detroit, I have to do the rest after testing.
