May I ask, skunk, did you zoom in when checking/building your maps, as most territory borders need to be adjusted zoomed in for them to look fine. Perhaps you can send someone the svg and they might figure out the problem, in case the problem is with the map itself, not you.
On-topic, however, I agree with a rating system of 1-5 stars with tags during searches to further categorize them.
I agree with Perrin, people who make shitty maps should become aware of that so they don't make more shitty maps that just cause clutter. I'm also not saying that there should be less maps or that people should stop making them, only that we need organization. Some of you seem to think that map ratings wouldn't work because of bias, but that bias is the whole point. The ratings shouldn't be based on "how playable they are" or "how pretty they look", they should be rated based on how much the average WL player likes them. The bias in that is based on "how much I like the map" either based on reason or just opinion, which is the point of collective ratings.
As for the rating system it be great, of course this will probably take a wail before this awesome system could be added...

The reason you don't see the gaps in Inkscape is that your background color is set to black. if you set the background to a color such as red all gaps will be very visible. After you fix them then set it back to black.
Oh BTW I dint see your map. This is not an attack just a howto
I think we can all agree that The Yellow Team makes terrible maps because he enjoys playing on them. Maybe skunk feels the same? BTW, just kidding, mate, I am in serious awe that you were able to get that Crazy shapes map to work, kudos.
Actually, I'll put a question out there for the masses.
Certain territories should connect if some shapes are thought of 'in 2D' but not when thought of 'in 3D'.
See Cube 12 to Cube 14 for an example. Do you reckon I should think in 2D or 3D for these connections? 3D might be a bit confusing. My explaination here might be, too.
I'd love to be able to sort by rating/popularity. Also love the idea of being able to check off ones I will never play.
The campus maps of schools I have never been to might be well made, but let's face it I'm not going to play them because their is no connection to them.
This is the greatest update I've noticed (though knowing how many times each map is played and being able to search for maps this way would be cool too). Map makers seem to be WL's greatest asset. Without their free maps, this site is limited.
