Why can you not set the color of the AI? I hate when your color is VERY close to their color. It would be nice to be able to change their color when you add them to the game, or if it some how chose a color for them that is not close to any human players.

More annoying (to me, at least, as I very rarely play games with AI) is when a teammate has a very similar color. I am currently playing a SE Asia map where my teammate's color is virtually identical, and our starting spots are right next to each other. Thus, before every turn I have to select my visible territories to make sure which ones are mine, which are his. Then again, there are bigger fish to fry in terms of gameplay problems.

Texas, my main difficulty is when my teammate *has* my color.. then I keep trying to strategize with his positions and then try to do something and it's like /facepalm

True, that can be a bit frustrating. Especially since I choose Ivory whenever I cannot have mine, which means half the time I don't even see my troops.

Seems like you could just change the color of yourself (or game maker of AI) in game. I played with an orange against a red and I had to adjust where I was sitting at my laptop at times just to tell them apart.

Really, I think the limit should be set at three months, or you should at least get a warning when commenting on an old thread that unless you add something valuable, people will hate you for it!

As previous posters have pointed out, there's little that can be done about human players having similar colours, since many people are used to "their" colour and have a strong preference for using it. However, this does not apply to the AI, so it can be given any colour at all. Smart assignment of AI colours would prevent games like this...:


Actually Moros, I think it's nice that this thread was saved from deletion; it's a good suggestion. Besides, if people are suddenly only allowed to reply to forum threads they actually can contribute something valuable to, this is going to be a very, very quiet place ("this" being the Internet, not just the WL forums :p ).

Not sure why this is a bad bump. I did a search and found no discussion of it since. There was no response from the administrator. So the only conclusion I can come to is the issue is forgotten.

I think it is a valid discussion and lots of people have this problem. I run into it in many of my games where you can barely tell the colors apart. You should be able to change your color when joining a game (you can see everyone else's color there), and also be able to change the AI color if you are the game creator.

Are you telling me this thread is less valuable then all the join my clan threads or check out this game with odd settings threads?

I think this is a valid bump.. however, I believe a more valid bump would of included a link to a UV supporting it..

I think the "No progress yet?" comment isn't useful, for the very reason that there has been no newer threads on the subject, indicating that there's been absolutely no more progress.

i dont think he was simply asking whether there had been any progress. he knew there was no progress and was bringing this up again because he wanted something to happen.
