Why are players who I know are active on the 1v1 ladder showing up as *new!* on the rankings?

Are they leaving then joining the ladder immediately? What is the benefit of doing this if they are? ...rankings?

Any one shed light on this?

Not sure, but i see that if we go in vacation we must leave the ladder. Maybe for this. And i see that we have a penality when we leave and come back to the ladder, so no benefit.

Might be because it takes 15 games before a ranking? Although I have seen Chaos as "new", as well. Possibly because there are not enough arrows to indicate such massive growth in rankings?

The arrows show each player's change in rank from 7 days ago to now. If they weren't on the ladder 7 days ago, it says "new". It isn't really ideal if they leave the ladder for one day, as 7 days later they'll be new for a day.

Fiz, but Chaos and V both play about nonstop, why do they still show up "new"? I hadn't thought about this before, but it seems it happens?

I look at V's ladder graph and it shows he left the ladder from the 21st to the 24th.

Ah, gotcha. So basically the "new!" shows changes players make when they are away for a while. Would also explain why Chaos has a "new!" tag, as he was on vacation mode for a bit. I wish people would notice MY changes, but being buried at the bottom of the ladder for some unexplained reason (certainly not my level of play) makes me notice the top 1

maybe it should say 'back!' for players who just had a break, and 'new' for new players/teams

*new* also applies to anyone that went below the threshold then came back over it, even if playing regularly
