i just wanted some pointers before i go any further as its quite a complicated map to start my map career on

Basically im making a map of Liberty City (please see links below)

[General Map](http://gta.ag.ru/i/gta4/maps/gta4_map.jpg)

[Neighbourhood map which i will use as bonuses](http://oyster.ignimgs.com/franchises/wiki/grandtheftauto.ign.com/default/uploads/thumb/2/22/GTA4--Liberty-City-Neighborhoods3.jpg/620px-GTA4--Liberty-City-Neighborhoods3.jpg)

heres what ive got so far.

[Clicky](http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=9633)

im thinking that the borders may look a little scrappy and that they possibly need re doing

what do you think of what ive done so far and the overall idea?

I'm pretty sure that the map already exists.

ah rubbish!! yes you are right!

Never noticed it before. that will teach me not to check first.

Its drawn out quite nicely actually however its very small, my plans were to make it larger with more territories

So essentially a "Liberty City (Big)"? What's stopping you? :p

if i were you i would make up better names for the territories rather than north-east [bonus name]; south [bonus name] etc. you could use landmarks or major street names. id also add small metabonuses for the 4 islands but thats up to you. looks great so far! i agree about the smallness of the existing map.

The one thing I would worry about is the territories fitting any single-digit armies. It looks rather tight now for some of them and they will definitely be too small for double-digit armies.

Know that the map is easily scaled up or down in Inkscape (takes seconds) but that it should be done before you start the work in Warlight. Center points won't move with the scaled territories so all points will have to be relocated so in the interest of saving time, I'd make certain the scaling is where you want it before you start editing in Warlight.

Let me know if that makes sense or not...

Thanks for the advice Guys

@x the reason i was picking these name is because its so much easier to find when talking to team mates. If your team mate says something like "shall i airlift some men to W Little Bay" you can probablly guess which territory it is because it relates to the bonus. If it doesnt relate to the bonus and you have quite a few battles going on sometime it can take a while to find the terriitory

@Richard ah i did not know this!! thanks for the heads up, thats going to save a lot of time. i knew i could scale it but didnt realise it was best to do this first. if thats the case i will get it all on inskape first before transfering it over

Another suggestion: Either completely get rid of the non-playable areas around the outside of the map, or change the color. Very unappealing, to me at least.
