Does anyone knows how to make a huge map smaller when you already simplified the map?
I have already 900 territories and I just need 100 territories but my map is to big already. I simplified the territories but that isn't enough. I saw that some maps (like huge poland and Big USA) have more than 2.000.000 bytes. How is that possible?
Are there any other ways to make the file smaller?

Do you have a picture as background or something? If territories are complicated, simplifing them once might not be enough.

I have the same problem with an Asia Diplomacy map that I'm creating. It has 13 territories and 13 bonus links. But apparently it's >7 million bytes. What?

It's always the picture(s). Remove it, save it in a different file and upload that to warlight.

Get rid of pictures.

Hmm I removed the picture, but it isn't enough, I have between 2 an 2.1 kb
At the start I didn't put a picture in the inkscape file but I just linked it.

What you can do is saving it as a regular svg file instead of an inkscape svg file. That takes away about a third of the file size with no changes to the map.

Thank you so much for this tip! The svg-inkscapes file was 2.031 kb (1.954 is the limit) and when I converted it to a normal SVG file it was 1.911 kb!

One other question. If you simplify a path and then use the path to split the region to 2 regions, it seems that the previous simplified path become more complicated (which means more kb) how is this possible?
Now I simplified the territories when they were complete, which can give overlapping borders.

How did you generate your paths? I found that simplifying a few times, then changing a few of the nodes to make it look better worked. Yes, its manual, but can greatly reduce map size.
