What kind of maps is warlight missing? I'm looking to make a map with 1000+ territories, but I'm fresh out of ideas. I could always do something fantasy-like, but I'd rather do something that exists. Of course, I'm only one man, so I mean, go ahead and give multiple ideas for others map creators. This thread could always go in Map Development, but this thread can be used as general map discussion anyway. :P

This is a good idea. I was thinking of getting into the map-making game but I don't know what map I would make. So please people, give your suggestions :)

I would love to see a large China-exclusive map. Maybe even with a Chinese civil war preset, or with a Three Kingdoms preset. Other than that it'd be nice to see a US map that isn't so big as the huge one and not so small as the regular one...one that's a decent size for six players to play a ~90minute real-time game.

Actually a great idea. States could be divided into N/E/S/W, or N/E just depending on their sizes. I think it might be nice to have an in-between map indeed.

I would think using the bonuses on the USA Big map as a starting point for the territories would work nicely, although it might need some revisions.

I would love to see a huge Earth map, with the individual countries consisting of their main region. It would imagine it to look similar to a joining together of the already existing Africa, Europe, Asia and US map and adding of course the remaining continents.

This type of huge world map would allow for some fun big team games, maybe even clan vs clan games. The large US map just does not give enough choke holes. A huge world map would at the same time provide lots of space for players and expansion, but at the same time so much variety.

I also believe that lots of players would play it just because of the recognition factor and identifying yourself with a real world map.

Of course some territories would have to be adjusted to keep within a max territory limit, but using the existing continent maps would be a good starting point.

Though, I guess that doesn't count as huge. It is bigger, anyway.

There's already a medium-sized USA map in existence. It's called "Designated Market Area - USA". I have played one or two games on it and found no major flaw yet. Sure, it's not the best looking map out there, but it works.
