Hi,

I've made my first map with inkscape and everything is fine so far. It's simply a map with several territories and every territory got a centerpoint. Oddly, there are additionaly centerpoints in the top left corner, that i didn't set up. There is even no territory. It just seems like, that the editor made an territory by its own - its not supposed to be there. I dont want to go on editing as long im not sure that i dont need to start over, when that becomes a real issue in the end.

can anybody help me with that or give me a hint what kind of error this might be?
i would appreciate your responses.

Can you post a link to the map?

Does every territory have a centerpoint? Cause it sounds like you changed the size of the map or something, moving the centerpoints and now there are some left at the place they used to stand, while they don`t belong there.

to Min34: no,i didnt set every centerpoint yet. but i still started over several times and there where even more issues but this last one is damn persistant and appears even when all center points are set. its like a cloned territory in the top left corner. and my doubt is that it might appear in the distribution ....

Centerpoints are in the top-left corner by default, so if you see any there that means there's a territory with an unset centerpoint.

And you can upload new files as often as you want, nothing gets lost (unless you screw up and upload an empty file).

Try uploading the file to a new map family on Warlight. See if the problem is fixed.

to Moros: Maybe i should appologize for my poor english. I guess you got me wrong.

let me try to describe this error again: I've made a map with several territories and every territory got a centerpoint. Oddly, there are additionaly centerpoints in the top left corner, that i didn't set up. There is even no territory. It just seems like, that the editor made an territory by its own - its not supposed to be there.

to BearsBeetsBattlestarGalactica: no, unfortunately not - i still uploaded it six to seven times

I got you just right Ranek. Every territory gets a centerpoint once you upload a map file to Warlight. If you click on a territory to set the centerpoint, it doesn't create one out of nothing, it just moves that territory's centerpoint from the top-left corner (where all unset centerpoints are, despite the absence of territories in that place) to wherever you click. This is not a problem, it's just how the game works.

Thanks a lot, got you - this means i duplicated a territory by mistake in inkscape or forgot to delete it. so the next question is - does this matter in the end, when i have territories in my map without a centerpoint?

Try clicking the "Validate Map" button. It will tell you the IDs of the territories you haven't assigned center points to, then you can search for those in Inkscape.

Thanks Fizzer. There was a territory hidden underneath another that was supposed to be adjacent.
