I notice that Asia has no wastelands, so thats the obvious starting choice, specifically India and East china.
So i let him take India and I take West China to deny his india bonus. West china as pick #3 because its generally not a popular pick and im not worried about it getting taken.
Knowing that we are going to meet at turn 2 or 3. I need to pick up a fast bonus, so i take antarctica and scan as my 1st and 2nd pics. Safely assuming that i will get at least one of them.
I took east china as #4 and central russia as #5 for a safe turn 4 or 5 bonus. Looking back, i probably should have taken Indonesia or Caucaus as my #4, so i wouldnt be too clustered if i got east china and west china.


Opinions? What would you have done differently?

1v1 is not my best category i will have just clicked random small places with no wasteland most of the time cluster pick.

Tibet is very interesting for info and counter as well as speed/support if you get 1-2. 3-4 gives you fast options, and 5-6 either an unstable fight there (which is fine, basically) or a fast combo while you'd get most of relevant info for a short game.

Mian, I completely disagree, look what you get against my picks. I'd have india, antarctica and scandinavia, while you have east and west china + russia, which leaves me in a commanding position since I counter easily your cluster pick.

antarctica and scan are good sources of income, if opponent pick 2 in asia, you get a counterpick there, if he pick 3, even better, you counter from russia, if he picks like you, no harm done, you get a solid position anyway :)

Depends. From Jiangxi, 3 north, 4 east, move in Tura, 4 to HK from Tibet. If you dare countering with a heavy force that early (which is playing cheesy, as you usually don't assume I picked Tibet so high), you won should get late with your fast picks and/or eventually lose Thailand. Having Tibet under control gives perfect control on the moves of troops in the India bonus, containing them in the corridor, so East China is pretty safe.
And if I can't get Jiangxi, I know it's settled and I can attack on turn 2 if nothing comes from Thailand to Myanmar, which would gives me an edge because of the lost troops and possible assignments there. And if so, I get an extra fast bonus anyway (either small one or combo).

I'd deploy 3 to antarctica and 2 to india. 2 attack in antarctica and 1 in scan + no move in india. Next turn I have 6 in india vs your 2-3 and in order to 100% finish china, you have to deploy at least 2 to shanghai. That leaves max 6 troops in HongKong against my 10 attack, which makes you lose in the worst-case scenario for me...

Btw. my orders here are not biased upon your posts, because I don't even have to suspect you having tibet (though it likely), because deploying 2 in india does not hurt my expansion at all and makes it more likely to counter all the threats in china. You actually might have pulled it off if you refrained from attacking Tibet, but of course that also is risky since a heavy attack on 2nd turn is likely.

Zaeban, again similarily like with Mian, how are you going to play with your 1,2,3 picks against antarctica, scandinavia and russia? Most likely you'll face an attack with 12 income vs 15 with unfinished west china...

Even on the offchance of breaking russia it'll be 12vs11 with a strategical disadvantage and greenland open for further expansion.

With those three picks I would be inside Russia with india and east china bonus(read 12 income) before you get it.

Sure, can we do it? Though knowing I am in russia would be to your advantage. Still you will definitely not expand more than to indonesia while being threatened neear india and china. My presence in russia limits your expansion possibilities. I really don't see how being clustered in asia would work... Maybe you could elaborate?

Taking scan and antarctica first, than attacking Tomsk... How could you be there going through one extra neutral?

We'd clash in Tomsk with me taking it most probably (less troops used elsewhere and you have one neutral more to go). Even if you stall me and take a detour through caucasus, I could take a detour through mongolia for example...
