When login in to your profile, you should be directed to the front page, instead of just getting the message "you are logged in"
Its more useful and seems a bit more "proffesional"

Professional? I know lots of professional sites that do the same as Warlight does.

Still.. It seems like a better idea to direct the user to the home area instead of showing some useless information that we already know

But what if the logging in did fail? Possibly due to some server crash or temporary internet shut-down.

You can get to it by clicking Home and then Welcome.
I love the way Warlight is set up! It's far more intuitive then any of the other sites I use.

First of Moros.. If the log in failed, then you would not be directed to the front page, then you will get an error, and be kept on the log in page.
And perrin.. What are the chances the player with almost the same name as you would have exact the same password as you.. Come on...
But lets work on this dumb situation.. You could have your username in the top right corner of the website, seeing as its unused space. You could also have the log out function in that corner too next to your name

resell4, name is irrelevant..
when you login you input your email and password..
you input your email
joedirt2255@emailaddress.com
Ilovejoedirt
then you get the response
You are now logged in as Joedirtisawesome.
but one day.. you misclick and instead type..
joedirt225@emailaddress.com
Ilovejoedirt
then you get the response
You are now logged in as AdrainPeterson.
This would be an instant red flag to you.. like *woah.. wtf.. I am -not- AdrainPeterson!!* and then you can logout and back in ensuring correct fields..
this kind of confirmation is done on many sites, and usually much more complicated, often requiring additional steps.. since this is just a gaming site, just ensuring you know you are logged in as *Joedirtisawesome* is as much verification as Fizzer feels is necessary..
Obviously, you would realise your mistake after having looked through your games, and noticed drastic differences.. or after having posted in the forum, and realized that someone else posted *exactly* what you just typed..
and how much of that *top right space* is empty, is based on the user.. if someone can barely fit Help on his screen, then there is -no- empty space.. whereas on my monitor, there is a good 4 inches..
Personally.. I agree with the idea of having the player information displayed prominantly.. but -not- having the page confirming your sign in as who you are, seems unprofessional... imho ofc'

As mentioned above.. What are the chances of someone having almost identical email AND the same password as you? Its close to 0

Only if people actually *read* the confirmation. My experience is lots of users will not read text unless it's bright red, bold, huge font and preferably flashing (I'm slightly exaggerating, but not as much as you'd hope...).
---
The logging in to another account becomes much more likely on multi-user systems (such as schools where everyone uses the same, shared "student" account) and password-saving browsers (a feature I hate on accounts used by a single user and pretty much a bug on accounts used by multiple people).
