[WIP] WH40K: Vervunhive: 3/4/2012 06:41:25

I have prepared a map of the siege of Vervunhive and am in the process of playtesting it. My biggest challenge is the siege aspect, as it wouldn't really make sense for both sides to spend the first dozen rounds taking over the city from neutrals. I have set it up as a scenario, with the outer wall forts / gates belonging to team A, and Ferrozoica in the distance belonging to team B. 'Zoica is connected to the highways and rails that lead to the various forts / gates.

I intended for this map to be set up as a custom scenario with Team A owning all territory in the city, and Ferrozoica all by itself as Team B. 'Zoica would have a large army with a small amount of bonus, and Vervunhive would start smaller but gain far more over time so long as they hold the gates and strategic positions in the city.

The issue is, I don't think we can package that custom scenario with the map. The custom starting positions, yes, but army distributions? I am thinking of the nice 'War in Middle Earth' map with the 'War of the Ring' distribution. THat has custom starting points but not custom army strengths. I'd hate for my map to require the host to manually assign specific army numbers per territory and do all that grunt work just for it to be playable.

Any suggestions?

Vervunhive map v1.0 is now public. Any feedback is appreciated. There's a link to the story behind this map in the map description. If you're a Gaunt's Ghosts fan I think you'll enjoy this...
