Warlight's First Law: x/y > 1

Where:

x = the amount of time it takes me to check the settings
y = the amount of time it takes for open seats to fill

@Muppet

That is so true!

Here's Warlight's second law:

y=x/100

Where:

x = The chance of an attack succeeding that the analyse window gives.
y = The actual chance of that attack succeeding.

@Moros:
If you also use the analyse window to figure out how many defenders you need to withstand an attack from your opponent (I do all the time, that's why I also included it in my custom analyser; still working on debugging it), that's actually a good thing. :p

A while ago I read the following somewhere:

A 50/50 chance never happens, a one-in-a-million is a sure thing.

That seems to apply here as well!

(In truth, if you do the calculations, it looks like Fizzer got the chances perfectly right, it's just the human mind which is horrible at dealing with statistics; that's what makes it sometimes "feel wrong" when it's actually okay.)

I learned that not only are famous dead dictators still alive, they are quite active in forum discussions!

Trying quite hard not to disprove Godwin, here....

I learned that most people want to be born (1st picks) in Russia, Central America, Asia and Scandinavia. Living in Africa seems nice too. Europe and the US? Not so popular though.

In Europe, clearly nobody wants to live in Germany.

As for my native country: Apparently it is advantageous to keep Flanders and Wallonia together in Europe, something not all politicians in my country are convinced of.

Also, trying to get something done in Belgium and the Netherlands is a lot of work. Mapmakers who try to do so are very similar to the politicians trying to make the decisions. A lot of talking, passed deadlines without a finished product, but in the end it's a nice place to live / a great looking map. ;-)

You have just dug to the core, the essence, the axiom of so many things in the world.

Another thing I learned from Warlight: Grundie is Australian slang for underpants.

In the Europe map, bonus links are 15x16, not 16x16.

I wouldn't say that it's about that. It's just that Germany is one of worst bonuses at the beginning at Europe map.

As about the topic, I learned a lot about Europe and Africa geography, but I still need to learn a bit about Asia. Well, these all Chinese names are kind of... hard to remember. And yes, I know that Chinese is not the only language spoken in this part of Asia.

So, is E88B3EC Arun's other account? Who else digs up months old forum posts?

I would say definatively yes, with one exception... he only made one post, not 5

Why assert US into this matter when no one else did? France got beat by the blitz strategy of the Germans. Case and point. You can say that in the end they won WW2, but did they really? Full military occupation and puppet government sitting in your sovereign country is a loss, no matter how you sugarcoat how they won battles afterward. Is Billy Walsh right? No. He's trolling and showing an ignorant point of view. (The French kicked some serious ass). Are you right in asserting US, then saying: 'Well they did as much as the US did.' US defeated Japan, nearly single-handedly. (There were others that helped, but US did the majority of the work). US and Britain defeated Italy. (The French helped in that by 'delaying' meaning they couldn't really do much else.) Allies defeated Germany. Notice how US is in 3 of those groupings? Yes. France, Poland, and many other occupied countries helped in taking out Germany. However, to say that the French contribution was as great as US in the overall war of WW2 is incorrect.

I'll give you WW1 though. The US didn't really do much in WW1. France completely put the superior German front at a standstill.

The polish were amazing militarical people the only reason the blitz worked on them is because they were a new nation and poor at the time the war started they had leftover american and brithish biplaes to fight the and they still held them off for a week against far more sophisticated armies they were brave enough that they rode cavalry into fields of tanks to help protect their country i am of polish decent they are a noble people and to say they did not help much in the war is stupid they activley fought the germans withiut reinforcments for three years they are some of the bravest people i know
