Max I ever had was around 220-240.

The total amount of games are a big factor. But I would say boot rate is a huge factor, you join allot of games but do you finish them?

Having over 5% boot rate generally says carelessness in my opinion, doesn't matter how many games you are in at one time if you don't actually play them.

Then stop judging. I didn't even realize booting was a big deal until level 16, and by that time, I was already at 30%. I'm lucky to have brought it down so low. Probably, most boot rates are due to real time games, and perhaps the person gets busy (taking out the trash), and forgets about the game.

Also, all of my games are multi-day and I'm actively engaged in them.

Play a couple hundred auto 1v1s real-time. You'll get some practice and kill that boot rate in no time.

To this offtopic train wreck......I had about 300 games by level 16 (yes yes, I suck)....and I've only got roughly a thousand now. I still get booted occasionally when I play realtime.

I feel like its important to teach noobs about the boot rate and how it can be a big deal to some people. It can affect the games you are able to play, clans you can join, and how you'll be judged by other players.

Players over 10% boot rate (sometimes even 5% is considered enough) aren't considered very reliable for clan related events, not to mention it wears down on the clan's reputation as being laid back (i.e. not competitive).

See, and that's completely wrong. Because not all not rates are correct. It determines your reliability like levels determine skill.

Yeah, but if I don't know a player well and I haven't played at least 10ish games with them I won't take the time to consider extenuating circumstances.

I'll take a quick glance at his profile, see if the boot rate, win rate and average speed for taking turns are acceptable and decide from there.

So let us see... 300 games with a 30% boot rate equates to 90 boots.
Now played 1463 games with 214 boots. That means after learning that boots were bad, you have played another 1150 games and been booted 124 times, or 10.7%.

Yup, really learned your lesson...

10% boot rate is like getting booted 1 every 10 games, for me that's not that bad...

Although lawlz, I can make more points in 2 games than your 59 games have gave you for the last month. ;)

And i thought my bootrate was high when i jumped above 1% .. Usually i don't take players who are over 5% seriously. Above 10% is borderline irresponsible, anything more is making me wonder about the person's meaning of life..

When i was new i didn't know that you can surrender or what that means, so i've been booted from about 70% of all games. But if you know the basics of this game it should be easily possible to reach a booting rate below 5%. I don't team up on tournaments with players who have a rate over 5%. Last time i did was in 2 rr tournaments and my teammate got booted from all 30games.
