I just finished a game, Imperium Romanum map, there were 5 players, I controlled about half the income of the map and I could see two other guys controlling about 15%. At this point I met another player and we started piling up everything against each other.
I was getting 32 per turn and had a couple of cards (5 each) set aside, the other two guys had about 10 income in total left I could see and there was another I never saw, but at least he held 1 territory too anyway. All territories left I could not see were worth together no more than 34. The turn we met I had around 30 already down and he had 6 or so, I put all 32 in (62 tot) and got smashed, lost the territory. This didn't cause me to loose any income anyway, so next turn I put again 32 plus the 10 of the cards in, and got trashed again. Repeat from then on... now after the 3rd or 4th time he did erode 4 income from me, so from then on it was over, but I'm wondering where did he get all those armies in the first 3 or 4 turns? Even assuming he was not fighting any of the others, and the last guy had nothing, and he had a 30 or so army just one territory behind the first line (quite a few assumptions!) I wasn't attacking and kill rates were default, so he must have been putting down at least 40 armies per turn or so (at least 50 the turn I did play the cards), to win, am I wrong?
I must be, because at the very max he could have been getting 30-32... how could he win attacking 32 vs 32?
What am i missing?

Thanks in advance for your insight!

You're likely to learn the answer by studying the game's "history" yourself. If you want other people's insight, you'd have to post the game link here (found on the settings for the game).

before you copy paste the /multiplayer.aspx link from the url bar: you have to the settings pop-up and copy the game-specific link.

still waiting on game link..
just as a random guess, there was obviously cars involved, am guessing default settings of 3 max cards, R card worth 10, so 3-4 cards placed would give 30+34 - minor player withholdings roughly, which would be enough to give the advantage needed to start the pushback.. having seen the army, you should of expected him to drop a fair amount the next turn. while not as much, with what was already there it would decimate your income, you should of placed further back, since your income was more than your enemies..
