I know it's way too early to call, and that many of the responses here will be along the lines of "THERE'S ONLY ONE IMPALLER BLAH BLAH" but this guy (or girl) just doesn't seem to lose. At all. And before you go look at his ladder record, consider the last ladder game he's played was in January.

There will never be another Impaller... Why? Simple, Impaller never had to face that much opposition. At the moment there are ~20 members that are capable of claiming #1 spot if the circumstances were right, when he was at his peak, he had to fight off 3-4 main opponents and some cannon fodder. Right now The Impaller couldn't be "The Impaller".

And about Mek Blaze... Well, since there is always internal power struggle inside WM I am not planning on losing to him...

Don't count the boot against me, he counter-picked me perfectly. I just took the boot instead of surrendering. Also, there are many games in a round-robin; boots are inevitable.

I'm surprised to see a thread about me, though I can't say that I dislike it. ;)
I've only recently started to play against the top players, and as envaeronment pointed out, some of them were won by boots. I currently have 1v1 games against you bishes and also sze so let's see how they turn out. As you said its way too early to call, so please don't overhype me.

I need to be able to beat sze before even being considered of such praise...

The Impaller did the Warlight equivalent of buying a palm frond in Dubai and kicking back and enjoying retirement. But the legend of him shall continue forever. Perhaps some day, that legend shall take up the keyboard and mouse again to show all that Mek Blaze could never match the legend.

Also, I am not sure the ladder is so much harder now than it was a year ago during the Impaller's long reign. Maybe I've improved in that time, but I doubt it's by much. But I am hovering at about the same place (with the occasional smackback) around 10 or so. Some of the big guns of last year don't play (like Blue Precision, Eitz, Ruthless, Nuckluck, Bostonfred) and have been replaced by new big guns (I have to say dunga had perhaps the most impressive wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am type game I have had. Perfectly played). It may be a little harder, but not that much.

I think I popped in around 15-20 or so, which was probably a month's playing time.

Where one person pops in has little predictive value as to where another player selected at random will pop in. I think the only thing that could be said for certain is that it is unlikely to pop in in the top 5ish because even if you win all your initial games you haven't played people with a high enough rank.

Actually, I take that back. I just checked, and our current glorious leader popped in inside the top 5. He's, you know, pretty good.
