Looks nicely drawn. Two things though:

Why is one of LA's stars part of the negative bonus but neither of NY's is? I presume that is a mistake.

Also, the distribution modes... no distribution mode with both LA and NY HQs as starting spots? Just NY vs the country or LA vs the country?

Sorry, been looking at it a bit more:

Need a space in the name of SAlabama.

Kentucky and Tennessee bonus links could be over those states, might be annoying looking for them off the coast.

You've used N, S, E, W etc in most places but UP Michigan. N Michigan for consistency?

Make the NY HQ the same size as the LA one? Maybe not the balance issues you were referring to but it would *look* more balanced.

I'll repeat, it does look good. Hope it plays well to justify the effort mate.

p.s. I don't have time to test but good luck with it.

Yellow, Thanks for the review.

Ive fixed all of the inconsistancies I could inside of Warlight.

I'm making a list for Inkscap corrections. Thanks for pointing out the Size of the HQ. I though I just duplicated the territories, but I guess I didn't.

I'm making it playable two ways... 1 with, and 1 without the HQ's. I still have some more bonuses to add, larger regional bonuses, and I need to figure out how to draw those in.

I've now added the Regional Bonuses, and am ready to really rock on Testing Games to strike a balance.

Please let me know if you're interested in testing.

@Antiloopje: Thanks! I think Denver annexes part of the Airport in the NE, which gives it a weird shape.

I stole the whole map from Big USA, and reduced the multitude of territories to few. You'll notice a whole slew of similarities between the two. Mainly that the Partial State Bonuses are for the most part single territories here, and the cities are actually just the county they were sitting in, for the most part.

I didnt do the best justice, but i think it shows the point.

Washington DC? It was too small for me to know what to do with it. Make it a city?

So, Thanks for the testing support so far:

Updated Map:
http://WarLight.net/SinglePlayer.aspx?PreviewMap=13416

So far, each iteration, helpful testers have pointed out missing links/miscoded bonuses, and I've been putting in fixes along the way.

However, the biggest problem I have is getting people to understand how to play the map based their review of the map, not my explanation.

Here is my latest attempt at the above link.

I've added a Key, and simple explanations of the Star Bonus Enabler.

The challenges I have so far is 1) getting people to take a look at the text I added, and 2) a language barrier for a decent portion.

So, I'm trying to make it simple to understand. Any suggestions?

Got the Connection Line, Thanks.

New Version (New Link)

This puts the Regional Star Bonuses right under the Star, plus a global one for the Cities.

Does this clarify any better?

Awesome, Denver is build around a highway ^^

And considering the complexity of the map: I think the best tip for understanding it is just trying it out!

LA HQ has connection lines between points and stars, NY HQ hasn't

Why would the AI play like this?
http://WarLight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=2703559

I tried out a new scenario on my map, sorta like Escape from LA,Escape from NY, putting a person in one HQ,and an AI in the other.

Here, the AI REFUSED to take a city in order to complete a bonus.

Is it because the cities belong to multiple bonuses?

I'd be willing to test, mostly to understand the map and experience it.

Notes, being from Michigan most people refer to it as "Upper Peninsula" or UP not "up" Michigan

It seems like geographically San Jose should be in Northern Cali.

It's still not intuitive what the game flow is or how the negative bonuses and blockades relate but I'd love to try one game
