Including background image in map?: 5/29/2012 21:18:04

Hi. Is there any way to include a background image along with the map? Obviously the territories would cover up the background, but for the "unterritoried" part, could I include an image? How would I do that? I'm thinking something like the castle map, or Imperium Romanum.

Thanks,

You can't include raster images in your map. The only way to include an image is if you have it an a vector format.

For the castle map, I simply drew the background from scratch using the vector tools in the same way you would draw the territories themselves.

If you don't fancy drawing your image from scratch, you may be able to find a tool to convert raster images to vector format, though you'll need to ensure the image is high enough resolution (and that you are licensed to use the image!). Alternatively, you could try tracing images, though this might be a bit tedious and time consuming.

All the best.

Okay cool. Thanks. I thought that was probably the case, but I just wanted to be sure.

Note that traced images may be excessively big, in which case you can simplify some of it's paths.
