I was under the impression an AI will always attack the weaker option - ie a square with 1 will be attacked as opposed to a square that has almost the same amount of troops as AI -yet this is not always the case. why when there are two players left Ais will suicide on one player only? This has happened to me several times now and I don't know why this is. It isn't due to other player blocking AI with bigger army either. Something I hope Fizzer looks at as it makes games 2 v 1 in a FFA situation.

I have not experienced what you talk about. The AI has never ganged up on me.

I do hate having AI as teammates (sometimes needed for testing maps). I don't understand why they take territories in your bonus you are grabbing. Also, if you have one in their bonus to start, even if you transfer armies out, they will not take it. They will never attack your 1 army to get a bonus (might be worth 12). There should be some logic for that (unless it is your only territory). If you don't happen to have gift cards in the game it is a nightmare. Even if you do, the AI would never gift you something, it is a 1 way street.

This is simply not true. Once your team controls each and every single territory in a bonus *and* the AI has at least 50% of it, it will use attack-teammate attacks to complete the bonus.
I'm unsure whether there is any logic in place to prevent it from taking your only territory...?

That's not because it's greedy, that's because it doesn't know how to use any cards at all (except Reinforcements cards on an all-AI team).

I tested this on singleplayer and Ai took my last territory, can't show you the game though as there doesnt seem to be link, so you'll just have to take my word for it...

Actually Major Risk, that's exactly the outcome I was expecting anyway; it's an easy-to-overlook corner case. Thank you for actually testing it out (read: thank you for letting me get away with being lazy ;) ).

I have witnessed on several occassions where the AI will single minded attack one player and ignore another.. it's due to the AI's narrow field of vision...
it can even be used in the challanges crazy and insane, as their narrow field of vision is attacking one area, you give them leeway, while attacking where they are not viewing with 2's to capture wide swaths of their land

I have viewed an Insane game at the end *after having lost* where one AI controls all but one territory of Russia, and the other has one territory, or canada, etc. they will resolve these issues as their field of vision notices them...

@Perrin:

Let me rephrase:
(..) it *is supposed to* use attack-teammate attacks to complete the bonus, *however, under (in my experience) rare and (to me) unknown circumstances, will sometimes fail to do so*.

The AI is inferior in so many ways, I doubt this is the only one. I had a game earlier today where the AI was having a huge army bordering another player with a huge army, and I had a huge army bordering one of his territories next to his huge army. I didn't have that information beforehand, though, so I attacked his territory with a few armies. This caused him to mass his entire army into my territory of 1 army and consequently chase my army all the way into my territories while the other guy's armies were still there (I had less armies than that guy).

I get it's hard to make AI, though, but I just like complaining about its flaws.
