I think an expanded version of this map could be the most amazing map on WarLight.

Imagine something like this: combine aspects of medieval European history and European mythology and fairy tales with what is already in place. For example:

- In the northwest, Robin Hood's Tree Forts connecting to The Woods and The River.
- In the northeast, Farmer's Fields and Huts with random farm animals connecting to The River (via a second bridge?), Robin Hood's Tree Forts, and The Castle.
- In the southwest, an underwater nymph/mermaid/sea creature/Poseiden 'village' connecting to The River (which would make The River similar to the design of Secret Passage).
- In the southeast, an underground gnome/smurf/elf 'village' connecting to Secret Passage and the underwater 'village'.
- In the far south, Hell! Connecting Hell to the underground and underwater villages would be cool. Making it a [Greek underworld](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_underworld) would be interesting too.

I'd imagine such a map would have about 300-350 territories.

...and adding a bit to the castle itself to make it more than just towers would be nice too (eg, with a dungeon that leads to Hell? lol).

Hey Evreux. I've actually been working on something like this for a while, but exams and stuff got in the way. Exams are over now. It'll take a while, but expect to see more updates, soon. ;)

Just saw the rough sketch: this should make for an amazing game. How long does it take to create such a map? It seems a bit complicated.

Oddly enough, I have a further map planned, but 2D, side-on like a platform game, with a heaven and hell. xD

There might be room for an underworld on this one, also... will have to see. It's going to be difficult enough to make things balanced at the moment.

Some features that may not be clear in the sketch, dragons will provide a means of travelling from one side of the map to the other, there will me a mage tower on one side, and a rogue cillage in a woods on the other. Two castles, of course, water wheels, and a whirlpool for travelling down to the sunken treasure. There will also be paths and caves through the mountains.

I may also add hidden bonuses on single territories with distribution modes only in a specific area of the map. This way, the hidden bonuses can be set to high negative values to effectively block off a portion of the map so that only it is playable, for example, you could block off one of the castles and play a game only in the castle.

I guess so. I'm sure it will be a new favorite for many players.

Expect this to take quite a while. :P

I did the original castle in a couple of days, but this is significantly bigger.

If anyone is interested in helping out at all (for example, by producing isometric vectors for use in the map), I would be very grateful. :D
