New record for insane challenge - 23 turns?: 6/23/2012 11:11:35

According to the Warlight wiki the record for the fastest win on the insane level to date has been 24 turns. I'm surprised and pleased to report I've bested it by one now. If someone can tell me how to post single-player games here I'd gladly do so. It goes without saying that I was extremely lucky - this was my third try at trying to beat Insane at all and I wasn't even aware of the record during the game. I essentially followed Diabolicus's strategy outlined here: http://warlight.net/Forum/Thread.aspx?ThreadID=136&Offset=121. Somehow the AI got to Svalbard S much later than it usually does (didn't have to abandon there till move 13, and the AI never even tried to break it down) and it let me send a band of guerillas into the south very early on. Plus I was also able to break through into Canada S by move 12 which sealed the deal.

Well done on beating it Aziridine. Unfortunately I don't think you can post the game because I don't think single-player games are saved.

Nope, you can't post it. But you can use the history and play through the whole match, record that, and put that on Youtube as proof.

While it's pretty much impossible to cheat on multi player (as in, every army you deploy you earned, every order executed is valid; you can of course cheat by having an alt account be a member of the opposing team) because you only send orders to the server (and the server then decides what actually happens), it is (or, at the very least, was) possible to cheat on single player. Sasha's comment wasn't irony, there are people who are listed as having completed the single player levels in one turn.

@Aziridine:
Please understand I'm not accusing you of cheating your way to this victory, merely pointing out a technicality to General Mac; my apologies for doing it on "your" thread.

RvW, I thought the only people with rediculously low scores got them on kongregate.

To assuage all doubts, I have posted a playthrough with commentary: http://youtu.be/-IN5PLzE10Y. Clearly my play wasn't perfect so I have no doubt 22 or fewer is possible. Don't worry, I won't be trying again!

I did notice there's another video on Youtube where someone also does it in 23 turns, but saving/reloading seems to have been used extensively to make sure all the 3v2s go through and so on. Here it should be pretty obvious that this was done free of any shenanigans!

I can´t complete the Crazy challenge. Every time I have lower income than the enemy, no matter where I start.

There are other threads in the forum about the Crazy challenge but iirc I beat it by starting in Central America. Definitely some luck is required - you have to hope the two teams are pretty even when you first meet them.
Can't beat level 3? Hmm, I suggest eating more fresh fruits and vegetables :)
