@hedja, we may play if we don't get any more people. However, if we have more than 2 rounds I won't be able to due to having to start the livestream, but Lolowut could probably fill in a spot if we end up with an odd number of people.

@Agressive#Number, glad to have you participating!

@platypus, it's better to have a lackluster or partially one-sided game instead of not having games at all, so we'll take pretty much anyone who's willing to participate. On that note, you want to join in? Please?

Sorry for double post, but I remember in the stream yesterday you guys saying that it might not work out too well as a spectator sport, and you can only watch the match using the history.
Well what about you use the template from this tourney in the next live one?

http://WarLight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?TournamentID=2825

it means that you guys can be watching and talking about what has happened at the same time as the players, or maybe a couple of turns behind, if not one player may realise something they hadn't thought of yet.

My thoughts on spectating:

If we do this no fog, most of the strategical elements of prediction of your opponent's starting place is is completely lost. Also, we would need for the stream to be live, and for the game to be delayed by a turn so that players don't receive input from the hosts.

It is impossible to do a stream as the game is running without the game being no fog. Therefore the best we can do is analyze the games after they're done live, and give people the FEELING that they're watching the game as it unfolds. Is this so bad though? From what I understand most, if not all sports, are broadcasted at different times. So a game I'm watching now on my TV may already be done in real life, and a quick internet search would provide me the answer as to who won. The solution? We just need to hide that information from the stream so that players watching the stream aren't automatically presented that information. Alternatively, I would like to see a feature in which we could pick a player and see EXACTLY what they're seeing so we have better perspective as to what they were thinking. It's just hard to imagine all the fog when you can see the entire board.

As for future tournaments, yes. We will be doing future ones. I will announce when and what as soon as I can confirm times with Myth and Kcscrag(Who did a great job btw). Rumors are that the next stream will be a 2v2 tournament. :)

To everyone who participated in the tournament, thank you. To everyone who viewed the stream, I would like to know your thoughts and opinions on how it went. If it went bad, have no shame in critiquing it. I'd rather know what's going wrong than only be complimented on what went right. :)

ok thanks Lol.

This tournament was pretty epic, and I can't wait until the next one :D

The stream was very in-depth, a bit too much in my opinion. They took more time analysing my match than it did to finish it, so it took quite a long time to watch the whole stream, and sometimes it was a bit dull. But apart from that it was great :D

It was fun. I think you guys did great. The detail was great and it was never dull - I think it's a great educational tool. If you advertise it as such I think you'd get more viewers.

I think you should stuck with 1v1 since it's the more popular format, and it's harder to get enough players for the same size 2v2 tournament. If the tournament is too large, you don't need to review every game - just cherry pick the better ones. Especially from the first round, but hopefully you can do all of games in the later rounds.

I hope you plan on doing another just like this one. This time, I'll advertise it a bit for you and gather more players.

Yes thanks a lot Lolowut and especially Mythonian for this. I agree with Fizzer, as the videos helped me become a much better Warlight player.

Glad that you guys liked it. We're definitely interested in doing more, and we'd like to make them as entertaining/educational as possible, so the more criticism and suggestions we get, the better.

One thing I was thinking about was possibly bringing in one of the players in a game (likely the loser, since the winner will be playing the next round) to get their personal perspectives on things.

Also, maybe an interview with the tournament winner after doing the Finals?

Myth, will this interview be just by normal chat right? Because if so, then that's a great idea. :D

It'll be informally done, so yes, normal chat. It's primarily to get more perspectives over what's happening, or to get the player's own reasoning on what they were thinking about during a specific move.
