Ok, so this is going to be my next map, which I will be doing while some other person is finishing bonuses in my big world map.

This is also the first map that I'm planning before making.

Here's the early concept:



Black area is the center of the map.
Red areas are additional lands that I may or may not include.
Green areas are passage areas that will be included if the red areas they connect are included.
Yellow lines allow sea travel.

My question for now is: which red areas would you like to see on this map? It will focus on water - as you can see each red area shows some body of water and surrounding lands

Would make a great map I think! Perfect for games set around the Hanseatic League! Other than Finland and the north coast of Russia all of the red areas look like good additions.

However, I would hope there will be actual sea territories to fight over, rather than just having the lands connecting automatically over the sea. It would be better in my opinion with the lands themselves not being as important as the sea perhaps based on ports. A map based on the sea itself, and fighting to control it would make a nice addition.

That said, I love what you've done so far!

So you say I should divide the sea into territories like it sometimes is on the other maps? I don't like that concept, but I see the point in it. I believe I can make 2 versions of this map, one with connections through the sea, and the other with territories on sea, cause that would be pretty easy to change.

The Denmark-Oslo red area should be included the northern straight above Denmark. Looks like a fun addition.

If this is a map of the Hanseatic League, then it should include Novgorod in Russia, so some of those red areas in the east would be okay. That also means that you'll have to extend the map westwards too, so if you want a cap on the size of the map, keep it to the Baltic Sea and maybe the Danish straits.

I couldn't have add anything lately, but today I've done Norway. That added 200 territories and now the map has 500. Also the Norway has very big amount of detail. Check it :)

And Sweden too!

I see a missing connection between unnamed and unnamed. It's near the edge of the map in Latvia.

scandinavia does not equal balitc....how are denmark, norway, sweden and disputibly part of finalnd balitc? your no even including whole balitc states. lithuania, estonia, latvia...

I've told at the beginning that I'm focusing on water bodies. I'm including lands that are close to the shore.

I don't know why do you have the impression that "baltic" map can only be made of baltic states. Yes, it is centered on Baltic Sea. Yes, it contains some other nearby lands too. Just like Europe maps usually have Turkey and North Africa, and Middle East have Balkan and Central Asia in it...

Norway is really easy to defend comparing to finland at least.

I looked at it and it looks nice so far, but some of the island regions southwest of Finland are a little small. Maybe merge some of them?
