Hey Warlight forum, um, I'm sorry to make this thread. I'm just going through a rough time. My mother died on Nov 1, last thursday, and I just attended her funeral. I'm 14, and its pretty hard. Have any good ways of dealing with grief?

my condolences.

forums on the internet are not the best place to look for support on these issues though

but i can tell you it's different for everyone, a general rule is talking about it with friends but you should try to find whatever works best for you through the different stages.

besides the people who just tend to joke about these stuff, there r people like em who have odd relations to most things, and they will make odd comments which will make u feel worst.... i will avoid my usual comments, but this really wasnt the ebst place for u to try to try to assimilate the absence of your mother

KBG,

A good way to deal with grief is to simply spend time with people you care about and trust. Syblings, surviving parents and grandparents. But besides your family, there are many people and adults in your life that can support you.

Do you have a teacher that you trust or simply enjoy as a teacher? Maybe someone from a previous year? Ask a teacher if you can talk to them during lunch or recess. You'll find that teachers in general are really receptive and helpful in times like these. Even the tough teachers that are usually hard on you or hard on students in general.

And of course, there's nothing wrong with just hanging out with your friends and doing the same things you always do. Your friends probably won't know what to say about your mom or your grief, but they will know how to make you smile and laugh and have fun. And everybody needs to smile laugh and have fun, even when they're grieving.

Death end of material life. When death common people think less. When death rare people think more. Mind have evolutionary function: selective memory. Think good forget bad. Spiritual life no end.

Táimid ag ól nuair a tháinig mé ó. Deoch i bhfad. Tá a fhios againn seo próiseas nádúrtha agus beidh muid a fheiceáil chaill a muintir arís someday. Dia smiles ar dúinn go léir. A dhéanann sé.

Tá mé leithscéal as do chaillteanas, ach tá a fhios ní bheidh tú gan iad.

i think that the best way to deal with sorrow is to talk to someone and honestly cry it out if you have to eventually you will be able to honor your mothers memory with happy thoughts instead of being sad and never forget depending on your beliefs you WILL see you mother again one day in the next life never forget your faith do not blame god for your loss please and faith can help you in times like these i will pray for you bro i hope you can take our words to heart

hey man, you have my condolences, I speak on behalf of us when I say that we're all very sorry about the death of your mother, What I always used to do was listen to my saddest music, cry my heart out, and sleep, trust me, it really works, soon enough, you will still miss her dearly, but you wont have any tears left.

and Im sure that your mother wouldn't want you to be stricken with grief and instability, turn to your friends and people you trust, get a understanding girlfriend who you can devote your love to, it worked for me, they'll become your everything, and soon your pain will be gone my friend.

sincerely, from a former emo. :) *HUG*
