Hate to burst your ego bubble, but your opponent made some of the stupidest moves I've ever seen. He basically handed you every opportunity you needed to win. If you want to be the best player on the site, have fun trying to get positive records against Gui, Szew, or Myhand (or all 3 for that matter)

I'm fairly certain the best players expansion decisions would not allow such a thing to happen.

to beat good players you have to think like they do and use it against them. that's exactly what i did here. i'm not going to give up too much strategy but notice where the dead 10's were located and where i chose my starting positions.

The best player would never let it get that bad. They would pick a good starting point and exspand quickly and large.

Only the worst players turn down a advantage.

I've never heard your opponent mentioned as a good player and for good reason. He mindlessly expanded rather than taking the fight to your front and make you defend. You didn't play horrible but you did not play well either.

As far as I can see, his opponent made 2 mistakes (major of course). First is not attacking middle east earlier. By turn 7, he should have known Billy's location. And should have started to advance to Africa through Middle East. This will prevent Billy's breakthrough, and will take the fight to Billy's territories. With double income, it will be an assured win. His second mistake is he should have put more soldiers to defend rather than expanding. Now, i'm not saying he shouldn't expand, but expand at a slower pace, and push with his soldiers to Africa.

On the other hand, I think Billy's only mistake (major of course) is his starting positions. with his starts, although his bonuses are well protected, will be impossible to expand (as his only expansion is Europe, which fails horribly). This resulted in an excessive income advantage for his opponent.

Other than these, i think both players played well. And Mrdean probably shouldn't have surrendered. He can probably come back and win this, because Billy's income will remain (unless Mrdean makes a horrible move) at 18

Happens often. People surrender against me before they even make their moves in round 1. It's easier on their fragile ego than me soul crushing them.

Any above average player would have beaten you from that point on. Sure, your bonuses were safer than his, but the income difference was too much for you to be able to win. He should not have surrendered.

i have better reasons to claim i am the ebst player, i am curtrently the number one in the seasonal aldder (even though i only remain so because im 2 afraid to join my next game, which i will probably lose)
