I'm going to start a ranking system for the clans on this game. It will be point based and may nit be totally fair (it is only an unofficial thing anyway) but it should give an accurate enough representation of where the clans stand.

It will work so that points are given to clan taking part in inter clan events.

First-1000 points
Second-500 points
Third-250 points
Forth-100 points
Fith-50 points

Clans taking part which don't come in the top five get 10 points for participation. All clans get a single point for participation.

It is not just based on skill. For example, clans like Br and Zen-D will zoom ahead soon as they are taking part in clan events. This ranking system favours more active clans; perhaps giving us a more rounded clan ranking.

Remember, this ranking is UNOFFICIAL. It's just a way to encourage inter clan events.

I'm open to any other ideas.

A mistake above:

Clans get a single point for beating another clan, not for participation. This means:

6th-13 points
7th-12 points
8th-11 points
9th-10 points

The above example is where 9 clan have taken part. The first five clans would also get more points for beating other clans.

Ok good idea but it's gonna take loads of time and effort to get all this info and to get it near accurate. I just don't see how your gonna get the score an be able to rank them.

Alex, this is for inter-clan stuff, with two or more clans competing. Generally, these events are posted on the forums. This is starting now; already finished events will not be used. Currently there are a few events that could start this off:

Br vs. any other clans
Zen-D vs. Warlighters
Second Clan league

I personally don't see the point of this. The Clan League will work much better and more accurate. I would not like the Clan League to be involved in this in anyway. If you want it to be seperate from the Clan League, feel free, but I don't think this system will work as you described it. If you work on the details and make them very good, it might work out ok. But it won't be as accurate as the Clan League. I have been thinking about a series of other activities for clans as well but I am still thinking about them and making sure the details are good before posting them.

I think that it will work well. I will use the clan league to generate points; lots of clans play in that (thanks JSA!). It is not completely accurate, but it does give a more rounded view, favouring more active clans (and perhaps generating more clan activity.

I can say I doubt WG will participate in this. We have many members that don't have time to do a lot of clan on clan challenges and such. We aren't based on quantity like that but more about quality.

Not saying you shouldn't do it, just that we won't be active.

Which brings me to another point. What would you do when people who are in multiple clans participate in an event? Give points to both clans, or the one they were operating under in that tournament?

Sorry, but the Clan League won't be used in this. This is poorly organized and not well thought out. The basic idea is good. In fact, I have been thinking about doing something similar. But in mine, it will be much more organized and won't favor weaker clans as much. If you could get 2/4 of these clans: [WG], [WM], Apex, AHoL to do it, then it might work out. But for right now, it is just a bunch of weak clans. And I don't think any of the better clans will want to do it, as there is little competition right now and seems to be rigged to weak clans with many players. If you want to get some good clans in, you will have to organize it a lot better and have a good system.

If I have to be honest, Arun (of course he can do whatever he wants) really should change the name of this ranking system, like "Not top clan ranking system".

I don't want to do any sarcasm. I'm suggesting this seriously.

I do believe that there is a lot of things that I don't like at all here, but they have nice success especially for new players and I don't have any authority for acting as a censor.

But since no top clan will join this (not because this is a bad idea, but just because top clans are not so active), you should change the name of this, infact if a clan like 101st wins this stuff and brags for being the best clan according to this ranking, it would be just ridiculous.

I don't quite get the idea of a ranking system that "may nit be totally fair" and "is not just based on skill" i would rather say its "just not based on skill" a slight change in the sentence instantly makes it more true in this case, huh? ;) and it is not a ranking system, but a cheap attepmt to make up any statistics which would make clans like warlighters look better.. No offence Arun, but i think you should focus more on improving skills. You are a very active member of the community so for sure you can organize something more practical then another theoretical bragging.

i agree with JSA - There is a Clan league that covers various game types and RANKS the clans - I don't think any of the abovementioned by JSA will want to appear in your statistics. This whole thing is probably gonna be received as _you_ trying again to mudsling superior clans.. at least this is how i see it.

Example - a clan XYZ challenges 10 other clans and loses all challenges but joins clan league - he gets 101/110 points in your "system" - which is 1 or 10 points better than a clan who would be rated 4th in the league (4th of how many - over 20 participants?). Honestly - which clan should be "ranked" higher?

It just seems like it isn't needed. Everyone knows the 3-4 clans that are the most active, why do you need to rank that?

IMO, your efforts would be better spent on doing things that accent the greater participation of your clans. Like the series of games Alex is trying to do. Or unique tournaments, stuff like that. If the focus of those clans is participation, then keep doing more unique things and get people engaged.

On the other hand if your goal is to get players in your clan better, then do that instead. This seems like it is trying to achieve two things at once without really doing either fully.
