I was pretending to be a conservative. .. Though growing up with heterosexuality and discrimination has psychological impacts. Also, I meant the dredd thing as a concept. Overpopulation is practically non-existent , you scrooges. Anywho, I think that tolerance is a-okay, but unlike skin tones , homosexuality is choice or psychological impacts. Homosexuals will be discriminated against for as long as others are discriminated. In the end , it is what you think of yourself and who the people you love think of you. I can rant about conservatism , and you of liberalism. But it will not matter when you hit the sack and go to bed tonight. Cartman voice : Confederacy.

Overpopulation is practically nonexistent? Dude. For one thing, take a vacation to India. With a quick stop or two in Beijing, though don't stay long because the air will kill you.

Then do the math, and see what the world will look like if the growth rate of humanity remains the same for the next hundred years. A few things I invite you to consider:

1) Property values/availability

2) Where in the heck is all the food going to come from?

Like I said, do the math . . . believe it or not, the Earth simply can't sustain infinite growth and overpopulation is not just a possibility any more.

Food and space really are not problems. Not even remotely.

And India is not that densely populated. Specific areas might be, but not overall.

980.8 people per square mile in India, that's nothing compared to the 27,778.7 per square mile in New York City.

Even Beijing is only 3,300 people per square mile, a measly 11.88% of the density in NYC.

You don't stop to consider new technologies and space exploration. There is many people in some regions. But globally ? Also : human population growth rate is not constant. It's constantly changing, albeit miniscule changes. People could all live relatively well in an area the size of american southwest. A few things for you to always consider :

1) Change

2) if things are constant, refer to 1).

Thanks for the props Good Kid.

Let's assume the whole world were as dense as NYC.

7,178,394,240 people / 27,778.7 = 258,413.613 square miles needed to house everyone on the world.

hint: The US is 3,717,813 square miles, ie. over 14 times as large as would be needed if the whole world was as dense as NYC.

The US of course only makes up a tiny portion of the worlds land, namely 6.49%.

"Why Overpopulation is a problem is because Humans consume too many resources, like water, land and Oil.

Efficient farming does require large quantities of oil, steel and synthetic fertilizers and all of these resources are limited (/also their prices are constantly rising), and obviously there are alternatives but they are far less efficient even with the constantly rising prices, before we had oil we used animals, before we had synthetic fertilizer we used organic fertilizers, and before we had steel we used wood, and yes 500 years ago when the population was a mere half billion and more then 95% of them were farmers we could manage with those tools, but we live in a different world.

another resource that is very limited is farmland, while its true that producing basic crops wouldn't require that much land, but the thing is people aren't happy with just eating bread they want meat and all kinds of fruits, and thats why a single person needs 10000 square meters of fertile land (/a year), and since we already turned most of our forests, wetlands, swamps into farmlands there isn't much fertile land left to sustain our ever growing population.

The Fish populations are dwindling due to overfishing, Jobs are harder to find because too many people & not enough Jobs.

Overpopulation is real."

Said Wohoo, in the "why does America want to take over the world?" tread.

Never meant to get it so off-topic. My little comment spiraled things out of control. Sorry fatima about that. Also : I am not sure why this wohoo keeps on talking... He damaged my debate duce now.
